Speaking of future gaming, Valve is getting into console gaming world with its new console, The Steam Box. Now you will have all the PC games you loved on Steam run from a gaming console designed to blow away console hardware. Just some of the amazing hardware in this little box includes Intel i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU and 8GBs of RAM. Additionally USB suport has been implemented for the world famous Mad Catz gaming controllers.

I can tell you that the future of gaming is not motion control, especially schemes that rely solely on it. Motion control is extremely limited when it comes to doing intricate things that make games immersive. The ultimate gaming experience will be when it is like the matrix (hopefully less invasive), where the difference between virtual and the real world are indistinguishable.

That said... 4 year olds on ipads are not gamers.

I feel so sorry for the coming generation. They're going to have some dull personalities in their twenties. OTAKU

    THAT SAID:

I don't agree with any of those developer's prospects in porting games across consoles and even media devices. Technologies diverge, like Ideas.

I don't want to play Uncharted on the Vita. Thankfully naughty dog has figured this out. It's because all of these developers realize the limitations of smaller handheld consoles or pea-brained home entertainment systems like the Wii.

This is because of the amount of time and money put into Triple A games; it's hard to focus just as much effort and substance in a smaller handheld device just for prospects of a few extra dollars.

Video games will continue growing because of the PS4's and XBOX1080's -- powerhouse tech capable of vivifying programmer's and art designer's imaginations.
