Microsoft released a lengthy list of upcoming media apps for the Xbox 360 toward the end of last year, right around the same time that the console's dashboard re-launched with a new look. Cable network HBO was listed as one of the partners, though no release date was given for its HBO Go app. Eric Kessler, co-president of the cable network, confirmed yesterday that the app will come to the Microsoft console on April 1, Engadget reports.
As with HBO Go in all of its other forms, you'll need to be an actual subscriber in order to take advantage. Which means that if, for some reason, your Internet-connected Xbox 360 isn't attached to the same TV that you watch cable programming on, you're in luck. Yeah, it's kinda strange. What's not strange at all is the timing of the launch: April 1 is also the day the Game of Thrones returns to the cable network for its second season.
