We know you: The second you heard about Kinect, you wanted to use it to play a lightsaber game. Finally, your day is here (almost), young Jedi. Check out the video below, in which X-Play tries out Kinect Star Wars' newly announced "Duels of Fate" mode, that features one-on-one lightsaber battles, culminating in a mano-y-mano fight with Darth Vader.
X-Play also invited some friendly Stormtroopers and Boba Fett to play the Galactic Dance-off mode. This must be seen to be believed.

Not that I have any interest in playing it, but I am curious about one thing. Can you play it (the Jedi parts) while wielding a Force FX Lightsaber, or will that cause problems with the tracking?

This looks laggy, boring and just all around terrible. Its sad when the best looking part of a Star Wars game is a rip off of Dance Central.

It's a shame that this game is going to suck but will still sell like crazy, because there is nothing else to buy for your Kinect.

I'm an Xbox fan who owns all three systems. I also think Kinect is ok for some things.
This, however, looks laggy and not fun. I think a Star Wars game emulating light sabers would be better and more responsive with Move.

As I'm sure everyone is aware, Sony's Move and eye toy creator has filed a patent for a devise identical to Kinect.

"It s no secret that the Kinect is outselling the PlayStation Move by quite a fair margin, so Sony may be looking to come out with their own Kinect competitor that can actually sense depth and track subtle movements where the PS Eye cannot. A newly published patent has revealed that the company has begun work on a new 3D camera that could potentially be a part of the PlayStation 4.
Only just published, what s most interesting about the patent is that is was originally filed last October a full year after the Kinect launched and broke Guinness World Records for sales. Sony previously admitted they had looked into 3D cameras long before the Kinect was a reality, but decided against it in favor of a button-based peripheral the PS Move. However, now that Move and PS Eye-creator Dr Richard Marks has published the new patent, it does certainly suggest that the company has once again started to look into such a system.
The patent also suggests that the camera would use a system similar to the Kinect s, where it sprays out infared to determine depth
A Kinect-like camera for the PlayStation 4 would make a lot of sense it s too late to try to introduce another camera this gen, but with Microsoft sure to have a next-gen Kinect, Sony will need something to be able to compete against them with"

"Sony's been spotted patenting a "User-Driven Three-Dimensional Interactive Gaming Environment" - technology that works like Kinect.
The patent was filed on 26th October 2011, by PlayStation Eye creator Dr Richard Marks. The patent was published on 16th February 2012.
The patent waffles on about a "depth sensing device"; "a three-dimensional camera" that uses "controlled infrared lighting" to scan an area. "

Sorry to say but if you bought a 360, it's too late for that.
I don't care for either one.
