The game-makers at Electronic Arts are bringing back the "NBA Live" name, and showing off NBA Live 13.
Like all news these days, the word comes by way of Twitter, where Cleveland Cavalier's point guard Kyrie Irving tweeted:
In Orlando for #AllStar checking out the #FutureOfBasketball with @EASPORTSNBA. Get to see the new #NBALIVE13!
EA confirmed the news, saying that the game will be out this fall and described it as an "all-new experience that captures the future of basketball."
The last time EA put out a basketball game was NBA Live 10. EA canceled NBA Elite '11 a week before it was to ship, then seemingly took a year or so to fix what must have been serious problems in order to put out NBA Live 13. Hopefully, when this game ships this fall, it will be amazing.
Who else here is happy that the series is coming back? NBA Live dates back to 1995, and thus is such a long-running franchise, it's probably older than many of the people reading these words.
All of the best people are following Stephen Johnson's twitter feed. Also, email me if you wanna.

i think they should put kevin durant on cover or it would be nice to see lebron or kyrie and maybe big blake
cavsfan4life
dude if u dont know who kyrie irving is then u obvisously aint no nba fan, like foreal jeremy lin aint crap how many points did he have in nba all star weekend .. wasnt it like 2.. and yea kyrie had 32 and did lin go 8 for 8 in 3s no he didnt and how many assists did lin have... and how about minutes.. oh yea how about the turnovers cause he aint really tht good if u think about it

Ummm wow, this is why Gamers dont play or follow sports, Kyrie Irving is pretty well known, and he was the FIRST PICK of last draft......
Also, he is unanimously the pick for Rookie Of The Year.....
and whoever said Jeremy Lin should be.... is ignorant, he isn't even a Rookie..... he was a Rookie last year, the only award Lin is going to win is Most Improved Player.....
As far as NBA 2k and NBA Live, they were never the same type of game, NBA Live is more arcade-y and appeals to the people that dont follow NBA like that, NBA2k is for the more serious NBA followers, but inreality, NBA2K is a way better and deeper game.

Hopefully KD gets the cover ...... overalll KD is currently the best player in the nba..... in a close decision between another guy who wears 6

1st : krie irving was a 1st round top 10 draft pick... so he willll basically always be known by basketball heads.
2nd: kyrie irving WILL be a NBA (all star) within 2 to 3 years.the guy turned 20 sometime in march... he's
a young up coming talent.
3rd: this years rookie class had potential but kyrie will be rookie of the year because of no competition.
4th: EA sports WILL get their (FULL) shine back.
why?? because if live 13 is equal or better than 2k13....2k has competition with legendary ea sports. madden ....is madden. the name is too legendary to the game world.
lets just say that deep down , we are ALL wanting nba live to come back on top . why?
because america loves the underdog. duuh lol

@Valdo209 & @justdaman182. Neskins is just using sarcasm in his post. Irving's name and team is posted in the article. Sure Irving is most likely getting rookie of the year but this years rookie class is "really" weak.

I watch 20 games a week, watch sportcenter, listen to Mike and Mike, The Herd, SVP, watch ATH ...etc.
I have no idea Kyrie Irving was playing for the Cavs...not because he's a rookie and can't ball, or I didn't know who he was, but for the simple fact that he PLAYS FOR THE CAVS!!! No one cares about the Cavs or Kyrie Irving. As for possivle rookie of the year, he's not s&*(ing on dudes every night like Blake Griffin, so he'll be quickly forgotten. Point is, Neskins is spot on.
If they were smart, they'd be going after Jeremy T. Lin (the T stands for Tebow). He makes even the Nicks watchable despite his awful ball handling skills.
Lastly, Live died years ago thanks to 2k. I'm not saying 2K is the greatest, but it's miles ahead of Live. NBA 2k did to NBA Live what NFL 2k should have done to Madden. Too late for comebacks...
justdaman182
LOLZ @Neskins.... HEY, guy just so you know, that "guy from the Cavs" is Kyrie Irving aka SHOE IN FOR ROOKIE OF THE YEAR! Maybe you should actually watch the NBA instead of sitting with a controller in your hand pretending to know anything about basketball.
Pizzle012
i like 2k but its really overrated to me nba live was great from like 03 to 08 on the original xbox they all sucked on the 360 hopefully they really made a good game because i will probably buy it over 2k
Starscream82
2K are the dominant basketball franchise. Good Luck with that EA. (lmao)
valdo209
@Neskins
if you dont know who Kyrie Irving is then i dont think you have room to talk to be honest lol having Jordan on a cover doesnt make a game good.
im personally looking forward to this, ive never been a fan of 2k.
authentic24
Thank God, I love playing 2k and just randomly losing control of my player because the animations are waaaaay too heavy. I hope it's good since it's being done by another studio under the EA umbrella
KTXtheGreat
Why? The NBA 2k series is more superior
orange-skittle
No one even plays that anymore. Everyone is on 2K now. Waste of time
Neskins
So this guy from The Cavaliers (who is this guy again?) anounce the NBA LIVE big come back???! Against all the star power that have 2K (MJ) plus the game play is pretty solid good luck to them to them.
