When you spend five years working on one game, maybe change is a good thing. That's the attitude that three ex-BioWare employees from the Star Wars: The Old Republic team -- Arnie Jorgensrn, Alex Thomas and John Watson -- seem to have embraced as the founders of Stoic, which is working on something called The Banner Saga.
Here's how the official website describes it (via Kotaku): "role-playing meets turn-based strategy, wrapped into an adventure mini-series about vikings." You'll apparently be guiding this gang of vikings as they escape "what could be the end of everything." Turn-based combat and decision-making "with real consequences in conversations with people you'll actually care about" are promised.
Sounds neat. And I'll happily give the benefit of the doubt to any story-driven experience from someone with BioWare on his or her resume.
