Batman: Arkham Asylum Wins BAFTA Game Of The Year

Batman: Arkham Asylum and L.A. Noire lead the just-announced BAFTA nominees, with each game earning eight nomination from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Both games are up for Best Game as well as the other awards. They're in competition with Skyrim, FIFA 2012, Portal 2, and Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

We'll find out the winners on March 16. Check out BAFTA's official site, too.

While I won't call the winner at this time between Batman and Cole Phelps, I would like to point out that these two paragons of crime fighting have met before... just check out the comedy video below the cut, and when you're finished with that, peruse the full nominee list, too.

So, what do you think of the nominations? Did anything get left off that you think deserves inclusion? Any over-rated games on the list?

If Skyrim doesnt win this sh#t is rigged. Batman was an awesome game but Skyrim is absolutly astounding. Any game that is that long, with that much content is an acheivment just on that. But also fun! No chance other games, sorry:')

I think we, as a culture, have to accept that we have no Oscars - at least not at the moment. Every time one of these "best of" lists come out it's just a race to see who had the biggest marketing budget.

    Feel shame, BAFTA. Feel shame...

Batman Arkham City should win. I hated that it didn't even get nominated in some game websites.

I see MW3 in the nominations several times.

Cue the "If MW3 wins" outrage statements.
