Ubisoft has announced Assassin's Creed 3 and they even announced its release date. You'll be reunited with Desmond on October 30, 2012. The confirmation of Assassin's Creed 3 comes from an Ubisoft investor call. The entire AssCreed series has been building up to 2012 and the doomsday clock, so needless to say, I'm stoked.
We don't know the setting of Assassin's Creed 3 but we'll be sure to let you know when we do.

If it's just Ezio again, then I'll just cry.

I'm actually a little excited for this, and that's the first time since post-ACII (and it getting stretched into 3 games... did not like ezio either).
It all depends on the locale and time period now I guess.
I know it won't be this one and I don't care what sort of logic you fanboys follow, I wants me a modern day AC! Playing only as Desmond and finally accomplishing what he's been jumping into the animus for all this time!
KTXtheGreat
I used to be an assassin like you but was before I had arthritis in my knee.

Assassin Creed should have a game set in the distant future.

Europe 1700's!

I like Ezio a lot, ACII and AC:B were good games with good story lines. I think its a good thing that we got to see more of him, but I wasn't particularly that big into Revelations. (Nobody uses the bombs, its true)
I would've been more into the story if there were more diverse characters, story, weapons, locations, etc. instead of exhausting the whole "Ezio is a Badass" thing. Ubisoft better give me the most mind blowing game they've ever done, or I'll quit parkour.

Asscreed (noun) 1) An extremely silly abbreviation of Assassin's Creed. 2) The amoral code that pimps and playas live by...

I have loved every AC game(even brotherhood) except revelations. Revelations was too short and, the only characters ever that ever developed were ezio, altair, and the bookshop chick. That said, ubisoft has a lot to make up for in ac3. they have been working for years on this, so maybe it will be fulfilling, but fool me once.....

I'll probably get some hate for this, but I did NOT like Revelations at all. The AC series are almost worse than the CoD series. The same thing over and over again in a different setting and a few- mind that, a FEW- new weapons and gameplay changes. And the Ezio story got pretty old pretty fast. I wanted to play as a new guy, like probably 1920s' Chicago or something.
Anyway, enough ranting. I just hope Ubisoft changes this game from the predecessors, stop doing a sequel after every new year and put focus and time into it.

I am excited for when the main trilogy ends that Ubisoft will be able to have some real fun with history.

Best part about this is that they said they have been working on it for 3 years... On the ign report about it. Thank god I love the series but it needs something. Thumbs up for a female assassin?
Jtoon
I am starting to get a little tired of the this series. I like the games but they come too fast. I needed a break from Revelations and still haven't finished that. Though I am close to the end I believe and could finish before the new one releases if I get more interested. I am more motivated about the new Hitman myself actually in the form of an assassin game.

many of you guys must not be real fans of the game. i've played every one and am just as excited for this new one as i was for every other one. each ending always left me wanting to get my hands on the next one. and for milking it out, at least they add new elements to every game to make it more interesting. you can't even compare this series to cod.

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!! this is awesome!!! i want to find out what happens sooooo bad!!! haha they kinda left us on a cliffhanger on rev.
backerman

Do some of you honestly think Nikole accidentally forgot "assin's"?! Spellcheck wouldn't help that anyways. "AssCreed" is just an abbreviation, albeit an pretty funny one.

So is Assassin's Creed the Modern Warfare of action/adventure games?? Seems like they have a new game every 6-9 months. I gave up on the seires after finally beating the first one a little late, picking up the second one, only to read that another one would be out 6 months after. At that point I knew that this was a money trap destined to happen. Now call me once they finally create one set in the future, because there is only so much historical backdrops I can take in a video game series.
Gamedude90
Asscreed!! LOL. My inner child is loving it. Can't wait to pick this up. Just hope its better than the last one.

I read on GameInformer that Ubisoft has been working on AC3 for the past three years, which would imply that the team IS NOT JUST STARTING THE CREATION OF THE GAME. I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that Ubisoft has been working on all the games simultaneously since the AC2, which is probably why they're able to release the AC games at the constant rate they have been.
Brotherhood and Revelations weren't meant to be AC2-length games, but expansions on Ezio's (+ Altair's in ACR) story that weren't relevant to the plot in AC2 (yes, Borgia in Brotherhood, but it was no longer to seek revenge for his family's death) while also serving for good points of transition in Desmond's story, which hasn't been really interesting so far because he's been IN THE ANIMUS MOST OF THE TIME.
Perplexed_Waffle
I know I'm going to play it, but they're forcing fans to lose excitement over these games.
