It seems that Minecraft's continued forward march onto gaming platforms of all shapes and sizes will stop short with the coming Xbox Live Arcade release that should be arriving later this year. Mojang's Daniel Kaplan confirmed in a webchat interview (via Eurogamer) that the publisher has "no plans" to bring Minecraft to the PlayStation Vita, which arrives this week for First Edition bundle buyers and next week on February 22 for anyone else who wants to buy it in North America.
Kaplan offered no indication as to why a Vita port isn't in the cards, though it's worth mentioning that "no plans" doesn't necessarily equate with "never." Don't get your hopes up though. For now, Mojang is still working to finish off Scrolls, which Kaplan admits is "definitely coming for touch screens." Whether or not that includes the touch screen-equipped Vita remains to be seen.

One thing I dont understand is that the PlayStation Phone has it yet they cant make it for the Vita... that is just laziness right there.

So we're announcing when games don't come to a system now?

We do not see the Vita as a viable platform to return our revenue spent let alone gain a profit. I'm kind of tired of everyone and the grandmother ''predicting'' the failure of the PSV, highly original(it takes investment to gain investment).
Lets just say, Apple's iPad brought life back to tablets and everyone had something negative to say about that. Lets see if Sony can bring back life into the portable gaming market.
