Will someone please tell me what happened to LIMBO? Was that game in the last cycle of the awards? It was innovative, fun and downloadable but everyone seems to have forgotten about it entirely, not even a nomination.

I'm not sure how I feel about Skyrim winning for best story. If it won based on the two main quests in the game then I take issue; those two story arcs are fairly generic in my opinion. However if Skyrim won the award based off it's deep, fleshed out cannon spread over five installments then I'm okay with the choice.

Glad to see Skyrim get acknowledgement for its story. The ending for the main quest felt rushed, but it was still enjoyable and the game's plot as a whole was magnificent. I loved all the mythology of that world and and its intersections with the civil war. It didn't hurt that they got people like Max Von Sydow and Christopher Plummer to voice important characters.

waaaaaaaaiiit... I'm not surprised Skyrim won game of the year - disappointed and in strong disagreement with it, but not surprised by it... but it won STORY INNOVATION? WhaT? For NOT HAVING ONE? That is so stupid. Apparently just filling the world with hundreds of meaningless characters who blather idle pleasantries at you is a story innovation. God I hope people don't take lessons from that... please developers, PLEASE don't take lessons.

At over 5m sales in 2011 Gears 3 received the "most sales for an exclusive on an HD console" award.

It's closest competitor was Uncharted 3 at 3.2m in 2011.

Come on people Gears 3 was not worthy of any award, it was the same old same with a terrible story, horrible dialogue and tank like controls.

My quip is why would they combine a single player RPG category with the MMO category, laziness? because an MMO is not necessarily an RPG and an RPG most certainly does not need to be an MMO.

Good to see all the best games won something, except for Gears of War 3 and AC Revelations.

Good to see Turn 10 getting recognition for Forza4.

Hopefully Bethesda's patch will finally fix the lag and stutter issues with the PS3.
