Update: The YouTube video we originally posted was pulled. Above, you'll find the entire speech from DICE last night. The Skyrim mod bit comes in at about 21:25.
This is really neat, but let's make the context clear first. The video above doesn't actually show off upcoming Skyrim DLC. Rather, it's a compilation of what are essentially Skyrim mods from the game's developers. After Skyrim was released last year, the team was given one week to put whatever they wanted to into the game.
Howard says pretty much the same thing before playing the sizzle reel for the gathered DICE crowd (via Joystiq). There's some really cool stuff to be seen in there, and it's something that every Skyrim fan should take a look at.
My favorite part though? How this official Bethesda-produced video uses music that riffs on the game's utterly ridiculous "arrow in the knee" line, which became such a popular meme last year. Always welcome to see a dev acknowledging things like that with good humor.

I think it would be awesome to have the dragon mount, and make your own house mod. As well as the Mod download ability on Xbox 360 because i want the space core so badly, and my computer can't run Skyrim on it's crappy little Pentium 4. Please make my dreams a reality Bethesda!

I had to work a little to get this to play, but it was worth it. This guy is brilliant! And nuts! I just started playing skyrim yesterday. That part about the npc at the beginning of the game was spot on. I didn't know what to do at first but that guy kept standing there looking at me, so I followed him. And as I did I learned the controls and inventory and map and changed up my weapons and suddenly I noticed the guy was gone. But I didn't need him anymore. It worked perfectly as designed.

So am i the only one that noticed during the make whatever you want and it was showing the speek through the kinect that he was using a PS3 controller not an xbox 360 controller????

It would be cool to have kids but got to have more then just white kids. They need to fix iilia the best follower and make so they can ride a horses,you have a free hand on the horse why cant you fight use a spell. the horses are useless on here unless you can fully use the horse cause i hate getting off to fight. It take so long to get off your getting hit several time before you feet touch the ground.that's the one thing Bethesda lacks transportation a big world but forced to walk everywhere. Goes back to fallout you see the npc's riding around in vertabirds landing off people but you ride in it twice never again. Fallout 2 had a car you fixed up,I just want to see game play fixes and improvements oblivion had more stuff. They try so hard not be like the last game they forget the good thing it had that people liked that could have been in skyrim.

CBS owns Gamespot which has been doing the live feeds from DICE so that's your best place to go to see this. Todd Howard's keynote was great, hope everyone saw it.
