A Battleship video game is coming, gamers, so prepare thyself! Developed by Double Helix Games for the Nintendo DS, 3DS, 360, PS3 and Wii, Battleship is inspired by the the well-known kids' game as well as the movie version of the well known kids' game. It is a "seek and find" adventure that is aimed as a stand-alone story from the motion picture. The idea is to provide a "blend of strategic naval command and first-person action gameplay."
“We’re geared up for an outrageous sea and land conflict with the all new Battleshipvideogame,” said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. “Inspired by the film’s exciting action and stunning backdrop, the game is next-gen naval warfare that thrusts players into the middle of humanity’s last stand against an unfamiliar menace.”
Here's the official game description:
Battleship follows elite demolitions specialist Cole Mathis as he clashes against an aquatic-based extraterrestrial peril in the sand and sea of the beautiful Hawaiian archipelago. Trapped in a veritable communications dead zone, Mathis must command the U.S. Navy fleet in a “siege on the sea,” while simultaneously rallying the troops on land for a terrifying “war on the shore.”
The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Battleship will be out this May.

I'm still puzzled about what exactly what the plot of the movie is going to be. Just the title for the movie doesn't make sense to me at all "Battleship"... really I saw a couple aircraft carriers in the trailer so they're going to call it Battleship?! The people who did the CG for Transformers who are supposedly doing it for this movie are probably just doing their thing and moving on while raking in what money they can from this failure.
When I first saw the trailer I honestly thought it was going to be the sequel to Battle of L.A. but then it was like "BATTLESHIP" and I was like "-.-".

Also...If the writers or Director of this film some how found a way to fit the Catch Phrase "You sunk my Battleship!" in this movie or game. I say we take to the streets and riot in protest of Millions upon Millions of dollars being poured into crappy movies and video games...Who's with me!!???

Well let me be the first to say that the board game sucked when compared to classics like Monopoly, Clue, or even Connect Four. Whoever gave the greenlight to make a movie about a board game like Battleship, where the Aliens look like something out of Transformers, and also casted Rihanna of all people but not have her naked...should be drugged out into the street and shot in order to make an example out of them. So to even take it a step further and make a video game based on a movie about a board game is just more evidence that good ideas cease to exist when potentially lucrative profits are involved.

I'll venture a guess that its a video game based on a movie that's based on a kid's game. A kid's game that has no story and no characters to add anything to either format.
