I'm going to let Nintendo take this one away, since the press release that just arrived in my mailbox starts off on such a deliciously punny note. "In a move that’s got tails wagging from Hollywood to Manhattan," -- holy crap, really?! -- "Nintendo of America is teaming up with Uggie, the talented Jack Russell terrier known to moviegoers as the canine co-star of The Artist."

Uggie will follow in the grand tradition of product-pimping pups like Spuds MacKenzie, the Taco Bell chihuahua and that fat golden retriever from the weird Volkswagen/Star Wars Super Bowl commercial (has anyone figured out why that exists yet?) in helping to hawk Nintendo's nintendogs + cats 3DS game/pet simulator. Kidding aside, Uggie is actually serving the good cause of helping to celebrate February as Responsible Pet Owners Month.

How? Looks like you can expect to see an ad campaign in which Uggie and his owner, Omar Von Muller, will show "how the game includes valuable tips on how people can maintain happy, healthy relationships with their furry friends in real life." They'll also be promoting nintendogs + cats and the new Pearl Pink 3DS, naturally.

My own dog, Loki, was furious when he heard the news, as you can see above. He did so well in that audition too...
