We're going to be talking to Chet Faliszek from Valve, Todd Howard and Pete Hines from Bethesda, Randy Pitchford from Gearbox and the Vegas gods only know who else we'll find. So now I come to you, oh noble Feedback viewers/TheFeed winners. Give us questions to ask these great, heroic, excruciatingly good looking men. Ask, ask like you've never asked before!
And we'll send you presents!

I'm a bit older than the panel and am meeting more and more "hardcore" gamers who have never played the NES, at least not on the actual console. It sucks getting older, but would you trade your first console experience for the next generation? For example, my first console was the Atari 400. If I knew I wouldn't live to see the Playstation 4 or Xbox 720 would I give up my Atari days for it? I might. But if the NES was my first, definitely no.

Anyone wondering why we are not seeing $40 downloadable AAA titles? Cheaper to distribute and no used sales to worry about, whats the hold up? It seems appealing from a producer perspective. I'm ready for cheaper games even if it means i don't get a physical copy of the game.

Games have gotten to easy. I have to constantly go back to NES games, or play online shooters to get the level of challenge i would like from games. Why do you think games have gotten so easy? Do you like easy games, or do you miss the challenge like i do? I don't finish a lot of games these days because they are too easy, and i get bored. Even portal 2, which i loved, i felt could have used one or two more puzzles at the end that would really stump me to make it perfect. Is it the publishers who are pushing "accessibility" over challenge? This issue drives me nuts!

With Mass Effect 3 coming out soon, my question is: Do you ever buy games out of a sense of loyalty to the brand or have you ever not purchased a sequal because of changes to the gameplay even though you loved the previous games? I'm looking at buying both Mass Effect 3 and Final Fantasy XIII-2 even though I'm disappointed in by the fact I won't be able to see everything in Mass Effect 3 since I don't have time for multiplayer or playing demo's of games I already own and Final Fantasy XIII was hard to get into. I'm going to buy both games, but I'm not even sure I'll ever play either.

I don t even buy discs anymore! Thank you Valve for making media swapping a distant, unpleasant memory; like booting from a floppy. And for doing it so flawlessly that much of the work you do we all take for granted because, well let s face it, nobody complains about problems that don t exist. Wait, was I asking a question? Guess not.

My question involves the recent news of the legal battle between Blizzard and Valve over DOTA 2.

I find it interesting that Blizzard is trying to block the trademark for this game, especially when its original creator is devoloping it. I'm not really a PC gamer, but if a mod is made within a game does the company that owns and produces said game own the mod as well? Is it in one of that terms of argeement that we take for granted and sign our lives away to? What does this mean for other modders and possible developers who want to move foward on their own with what they have created?

Are Developers Intentionally Trying To Kill PC Gaming?
As a long time PC and console gamer (Since Pong Handhelds & TRS80s). I have watched the evolution of gaming carefully as PCs became more powerful I recall using SLI with my old Voodoo cards setting up quad surround sound with EQ1 when I called 989 for assistance they put me in to one of the sound developers to help me. I have tried to stay cutting edge because for a long time games were made for PCs and ported to consoles. Now it seems the opposite is happening where games are made for the console and ported to the PC as back up sales to the console sales. A console, although powerful over time becomes dated while most gamers stay up to date with their PC hardware within a 2 year window at least with perhaps a video card upgrade thrown in there. This puts the console at a disadvantage with hardware, but puts PC gamers at a disadvantage because the games are made for the lower end hardware and a few graphical tweaks are added or turned on for the PC that the console could not handle.
DirectX 10 came out with Vista and DX11 followed with Windows 7. How many games actually use DX10? Even less use DX11, I have often bought video cards to work with the newer versions but get less than a handful of games to experience the PC potential, look at Skyrim can you imagine the DX11 potential with that game? It uses DX9, Rift, SWTOR and many more MMOs as well. Even if a company tries like with AoC to move to DX10 it was poorly implemented. Beyond just DX issues, look at SLI and how few games properly support SLI or Crossfire; many actually work worse with it. How many games make use of Multicore processing? Large banks of memory create issues for many games where people have to use programs like Large Address Aware to fix what the developers should be doing. I picked up one of the early PhysX cards and loved it on the few games that supported it, it was great as it worked with Nvidia and ATI cards, until Nvidia bought the technology and isolated it to their cards with no drivers for older hardware with Windows 7. Surround sound up to 7.1 has been around for a long time; yet again few games make use of even 5.1 effectively. I also use ATI Eyefinity on 3x27in monitors at 5760x1080, Nvidia uses Surround and the technology is amazing once you use it for your games it is hard to play any other way. Once again few games support it properly, I have to go to sites like Widescreen Gamers forums to find tweaks and fixes to get it to run and every update means you stop playing until someone updates the fix, but why should people have to do this instead of enjoying the game themselves?? Although, I do thank them whole heartedly for putting the time in for the rest of us.
So why, why, why do the game developers ignore all this technology that can put PC games easily leaps and bounds beyond the console, in turn it will continue to push innovation on the PC front which provides the hardware for the next gen consoles. So please, I need to know why do games that are huge and filled with potential miss the mark on Every Single One of the hardware innovations I mentioned above? Why are developers trying to kill PC gaming? Piracy is only a small fraction of lost sales, could it be simply laziness or the influence of over inflated production companies deciding people will buy it anyways, so why put in the effort and resources ? Keep up the great work on the show and try not to forget us PC gamers also.

To those of the Feedback staff,
Franchises are beloved by many fans and can cause massive uproar if there is any change to the original IP. Such instances relate to Infamous 2, Devil May Cry, Syndicate, as well as X-Com. There have been better reactions to such game changes though like the new upcoming Tomb Raider, Bioshock: Infinite for its complete change in setting as well as characters or the complete shift in genre like Halo Wars. This leads me to ask what were the best as well as worst changes to a franchise in all of your opinions. This can be any game under an IP, not just the major itterations to a franchise. For example Halo Wars to the Halo sextet or Master Chief storyline(1-6).
Thank you if all you can answer this question,
From a major fan of your show, Greyshot117

Hey Gang,
Many older generation games had a crushing difficulty level (Megaman, Battletoads etc) to contend with, but now the story telling element of games has become a major focus (Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid). Where does the balance exist in creating a challenge and letting the player experience the fiction being conveyed?
Cheers,
Matt

How does everyone at Feedback feel about the fact that Tim Schafer is using the (so far) $1.2 million he has earned on kickstarter to create an adventure game, and not Psychonauts 2? I'm positive whatever Doublefine makes will be fantastic, just not as fantastic as a Psychonauts 2 would be.

Being mainly focusing on business, production, and design of the video game industry does the events during DICE need to create the amount of buzz and hype that other convention/conferences do?

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is getting very mixed reviews. If you fall in the side of gameplay, deep customization, and task variety the reviews tend to be more favorable. If you look at the whole package along with the story, the game fails to impress. Is this game just another victim of failing to be as good as Skyrim or of identity crisis, a console game that should really be a PC MMORPG?

Its my birthday the day Feedback airs! My question is: what is your favorite birthday gift you have ever recieved, when did you recieve it, and why was it your favorite birthday gift? It doesnt have to be a video game.

What effects could the success of Double Fine's Kickstarter have on the industry? How might it effect the way consumers and developers interact with one another?

Do you see the future of game developers being more successful with creating many indie games with quick development cycles as oppose to trying to make only Triple A titles?

Jessica's reveal in last week's episode that she would be a "romanceable" character in Mass Effect 3 raised a TON of questions: If you were in Jessica's shoes and had a character in Mass Effect 3, would you "romance" yourself during your play through of the game? Also, if Jessica romances herself in her own game, does that count as some weird form of technologically advanced masturbation? Lastly, if Blair romances Jessica in real life, WHILE romancing her character in the game, will that rip a hole in the space-time continuum, plunging the planet into the apocalypse foretold in the Mayan prophesy?

Does the studio have any decision when it comes to exclusive DLC? or is it all decided by someone else.

Direction of the ONLINE PASS... Is online pass a more positive thing or negative? I'm finding it hard to decide. Companies like EA who have really gotten carried away with it as of late. Using it to lock us gamers out of content if we don't buy the game new. Whether it be single player content, multiplayer, coop, etc. Or revealing day one "DLC" for a game like Mass Effect 3 that is still weeks away from release. Should content already on the disc thats being locked out even be called DLC or an add-on? Where is the line drawn?
It's getting more and more confusing to me and it's done nothing but alienate me and is becoming a deciding factor in whether or not I buy certain games. I have stopped supporting EA titles altogether. Yes, I'll miss out on Mass Effect 3 or atleast wait till a price drop. I can't always afford to buy games new but I affraid of missing out of the full experience. Certainly they can come up with a better solution?
