Final Fantasy fans were ecstatic to hear the news last fall that Square Enix would be bringing Final Fantasy 10, the much-loved PlayStation 2 release, to Sony's PlayStation Vita. The re-release was pegged by many at the time as a remake, but Square producer Shinji Hashimoto offered some clarification to the Taiwanese website, Gamer (via Siliconera), at the 2012 Taipei Game Show.
The FF10 re-release is actaully a remastering of the PS2 game rather than a remake. In other words, you can expect to play the exact same game you did in 2001, only with HD visuals (like the recent Ico/Shadow of the Colossus PS3 re-release). That is unless you never played the game, in 2001 or anytime after that. You're in for a treat in that case; FF10 continues to stand as one of the series' best.

I actually did like 10 a lot. one of my fav games. when 10-2 came i was a bit disappointed with it. i wasnt fond with it at all. so im a bit excited about 10's vita release.

final fantasy x has one of the deepest stories, it has a great amount of allusions to the bible and christianity. great that they're releasing it again.

Looking forward to the "Remaster" of FF10, although calling the FF10 HD with Trophies anymore more than an HD remake is a little presumptuous.
Unless they add new content on top of the game, it's just a remake.
Only time will tell, whenever it feels like being released.

This sickens me, seriously I love FFX, but is Sqare Enix daft? An FF7 remake is much more called for than this, imagine walking through an HD Midgar. This thought alone gets me all worked up!

Why can't developers make actual HD re-mastered games or remakes like 343 did with Halo CE That's true HD not just saying it's HD with cleaned up the edges and a new aspec ratio....

I hope you can play it on your ps3 and when you save you can just pick up where you left off on your vita, that would be sweet. Also, I want online blitzball and trophies and I'll be a happy man.

I was disappointed by FF8 for various reasons. I decided to stay away from FF10 when I saw the trailer with the surfer dude and pop singer who dances about as well as Janet Jackson. Is this really one of the series best? Should I really bother with it now?

I hate to say it, but unless this is released as a PS2 classic for PS3, it's worthless.
I just don't see the Vita succeeding very well - even the Gameboy line is dying. :(
Now if you released it on iOS (and took up 9000% of my space), then it might be marketable... still waiting for FFVII to be released on there...

Hey, a remastering is all I need. I was hoping they'd release it on the PS Store, but there's only like 10 PS2 games, and this isn't one of them. This is just as good, though. Better! I can play it on the go, now.
