Feedback decided to get cereal on you and make a RPG episode for you. We had Internationally Celebrated Game Designer, Ken Rolston and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning's Lead Combat Designer, Joe Quadara on to tell how us to make an RPG. Blair Herter and Morgan Webb round out of the rest of the Feedback panel. Are you guys ready for an adventure?
The AUDIO MP3 of this episode of FEEDBACK is available here: Right-click and Save.
We tried something a little different on this week's show. Instead of writing the script myself, I thought I'd ask you to write it for me! (Shh don't tell my boss.) The entire show was questions submitted for Fan Feedback. Go ahead, give yourself a big round of applause.
Have you played KoA: Reckoning yet? Let us know what you think of the game, and what you thought of this episode.

To those commenting on the awkward timing of this, understand that this was likely recorded almost a month ago. Back around January 10 Rolston and Quedara did a little press tour promoting the game. Giantbomb and Shacknews at least, probably others, also had them on for podcasts at that time. It's hard to believe this wasn't done back then too. Rolston even used the same Internationally celebrated joke on them all.
It's unfortunate that G4 chose to hold the episode until now but you should now have an idea why certain things weren't talked about, like the review, along with why it wasn't insulting in the least to have them on.

Sessler's Soapbox and Feedback are the only two reasons why I come to this site so I find the content of these two videos a little funny.

I found it very perplexing that Ken placed heavy emphasis on how the interface should be great when from what i've read Reckoning has a pretty shoddy menu system.

EA will force them to make a Bible for Amalure for the money.

so awkward to watch after knowing the score that the game got

OK my first impression of KOA was how much it played like TORCHLIGHT,just with better graphics. The 2 games are so similar I think they used the TORCHLIGHT engine for KOA.

If you're going to dedicate an entire episode of Feedback to one game, please make sure that it's a game that matters. A whole episode to one mediocre game is a little much. And to all the pissed off little fangirls out there that can't understand why anyone would give this game a low score at all whatsoever, I'm just thankful you're in a basement and not the game industry. "G4 is great, unless of course they give a bad review to a game I like, in which case SCREW G4 and Adam Sessler and everyone! It's just so unfair!" Yeah, thank God people like you aren't in the industry. I can see how fair YOUR reviews would be. lol

It's odd that Ken kept talking about how RPG combat systems suck... Has he never played Mass Effect 1 or 2 before?

I have to agree with other commentors. I view Feedback every week and this was an awkward episode. With this posted on Wedensday after both the review and a Sessler's Soapbox on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. It's weird that they talk so highly about their game, and Adam gives it a 2.5/5. One thing that stood out in his review was the camera system not being fixed in combat. Well there was the combat designer who could have explained why that decision was made. Hearing Ken talk was interesting, he had some good ideas, but I feel like he was boasting so much about the game. It makes it him look stupid, that K.O.A:R has some bad flaws. I did like Ken's one idea of a 1 room RPG that has a short story but you play over and over again because it has multiple outcomes.
I know Nikole and Blair try hard to make an interesting program each week. But we all have bad week and sometimes odd things occur. Oh well, life goes on....

Great interviews! It was legendary having Ken Rolston on.

They usually record feedback on the day before they post it right? Surely Blair and Morgan knew the review that G4 gave it, since a reviewer usually has about a week to finish the game and do the review. Perhaps they were just cleverly avoiding talking about the score it received.
Plus, they have the combat designer there and Adam did say that the combat in Reckoning was one of the best things about the game.

This guy's ego is killing me .
Catfish27
I think, based on what I've read in Sessler's review, that if this game comes out pre-Skyrim, it gets a much more favorable review. We're living in a new world.
Luck702
given their game got a 2.5, this is looking to get awkward.

That calendar needs turning.
