Daniel Maniago is a fighter, a gentlemanly practitioner of the video game martial arts, so his opinion on SoulCalibur 5 is much sought after by those looking for a knowledgeable, critical reaction to Namco Bandai's combat simulator. His opinions are, in a word, legit.
Below, you'll find a sample of Maniago's largely positive review of the game:
"SoulCalibur V aims to please many different audiences. Casual fans will be in awe at the sheer beauty and polish of the game. Hardcore fighting game enthusiasts will appreciate the adjustments made to the fighting engine. Players looking for the most bang for their buck might be disappointed with the sparse selection of game modes, but should look into the character creation mode to keep them busy."

It obviously can't be all that great I know a couple of people that reserved it were excited for it live and breath soul caliber...it is their fighting game, and after 24hours traded it and pretty much all said the same thing that it's lame now if you love soul caliber because it has basically become Soul Street fighter like Capcom made it....So apparently its amazing if you love street fighter or MvC but not if you loved soul caliber
