Confession time: I still have yet to either watch or read Game of Thrones. I know. No, really... I KNOW. It'll happen, I promise. But since it hasn't happened yet, the import of this newly released trailer for the upcoming RPG from Cyanide Studio is a little lost on me.
Anyone who's reading this is probably pretty excited though, right? You find more stuff on the game's official website, but the "Riverspring" trailer offers a look at a newly revealed location. This one's more about scene-setting than showing off any action. You get plenty of looks at the game's seemingly solid visuals in motion, but there's no swordplay at all and very little blood. You also get a little bit of narration that fans of George R.R. Martin's work can no doubt make more sense of than I can.
There's no release date set yet for Game of Thrones, though the official website still lists it as coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in "early 2012."

This book series is one of the best of its kind, epic medieval + dragons story in a believably rich and detailed world with unforgettable characters. This trailer doesn't hold a candle to that...is this game approved by G.R.R. Martin?!

Books; Awesome, Tv series; also awesome, now for the game... hmm... I would love to be wrong on this but I don't have very high hopes for this one. I really really wish a bigger name developer could have gotten a hold of this franchise. There is no doubt it could make an epic RPG.

The HBO series is called Game of Thrones, but the book series is titled A Song of Ice and Fire with Book 1 titled as A Games of Thrones. You think with the Internet will make it easier to look up facts like these, but I guess wrong.
