Between Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, BlazBlue, Street Fighter X Tekken and the most recently announced of the bunch, Mortal Kombat, fighting games appear to be getting a lot of love on Sony's PlayStation Vita. We've only heard about NetherRealms' MK port so far, but that changes today with a new gameplay vid from Sony.
The verdict? Well, as you can clearly see above, it looks an awful lot like last year's Mortal Kombat. Which is as it should be for a port. Most of the video focuses on just showing off the fighting, but there's a little bit of touchscreen action as well when the player uses a finger to "wipe" away blood spatters that obscure our view of the action.
The one big complaint that I've had with my import copy of UMvC3 on the Vita is how easy it is to screw up elaborate combo attacks by accidentally brushing against the left analog stick while using the D-pad. The player in the above video doesn't seem to have any problems there, but hopefully NetherRealm does something to acknowledge the fat-fingered fighting gamers of the world.

This game looks amazing on the Vita and yes I am sure the blood splatter will be optional, I mean it doesn't occur until the end of the video when there were plenty of chances for it to happen earlier. But on another note, am I behind on this or is it new to everyone else that you can play "Snake" while the video is loading/buffering/playing by using the arrow buttons!? I was so enthralled by this that I had to watch the video a second time to see stuff I missed due to being caught up in Snake! Genius G4 just plain genius!

The need to wipe blood off your screen every 2 seconds looks dumb and obviously obstructs your ability to enjoy the game. Maybe it will inspire more tactics if certain combos create more blood splatters.

removing ur hands from the control pad to wipe the screen is terrible use of the touch screen,leave that for the minigames or whatever - wiping the blood from ur screen can cost u the match

For like 90% of the video there's NO wiping blood off of the screen. Why would anyone even ASSUME it's
A) a feature that like can't be disabled
and
B) a feature that would exist outside of Test Your Luck or the Challenge Tower?

Looks awesome. I do hope u can turn off the blood splatter on the screen though. Although it's cool, I don't want to have to stop my button imputs to wipe blood from the screen :)

I am really hoping this is an option you can turn off. Thats lame wiping off blood off the screen.. All that does is fingerprint the hell out of your screen quickly. I understand they want to use the touch aspect, but dont make it a gimack idea to use this feature..
