Mass Effect 3 Facebook App 'Mission Command' Launches

This isn't quite the mobile game Electronic Arts hinted at yesterday, but I think we can all agree that more Mass Effect 3 is a far better thing than less Mass Effect 3. A new Facebook app called Mission Command has launched to pimp BioWare's upcoming trilogy-capper to the masses, and fans who participate stand to unlock stuff in the game or even win prizes. Really, it amounts to an elaborate, multi-phase sweepstakes sponsored by Microsoft.

The first "mission" involves simply activating the app on Facebook. The idea is to help "recruit" more players by sharing the app around, but the real goal is simply to attract a legion of fans. The reward for this mission is a Normandy prop for your Xbox 360 Avatar. Other prizes include early access to the upcoming demo, ME3-branded clothing and even an actual Xbox 360.

You can sit tight and wait to see the missions as they arrive or check out the official game rules (via ShackNews) for the complete schedule of tasks and prizes.
