Alan Wake is finally coming to PC gamers via Steam on February 16. Alan Wake is a story-driven action game where players assume the role of a best-selling author who escapes to a small town only to find out that his wife is missing. It's a suspenseful, engaging title filled with twists and turns at every corner.
The action thriller will also be available through other digital channels and as a boxed retail version afterwards. The PC version of the game, which will be available for $29.99 and include the game's DLC packs, will feature high-resolution graphics and enhanced PC features as well as support for stereoscopic 3D and multiscreens technology.
“We’ve done our best to do justice to the PC version and do things the way they should be done for PC. The PC version looks absolutely beautiful. We’re bringing the game to life in a whole new way,” said Markus Mäki, CTO at Remedy Entertainment.
After the break you can find the key PC version enhancements coming to Alan Wake for the PC.
The Key PC Version Enhancements
- Experience Alan Wake’s Pacific Northwest in higher resolutions and higher fidelity than ever before.
- Refined and fully configurable mouse and keyboard support (or if you prefer to play with the Microsoft gamepad connected to your PC, you can do that too!)
- A wide selection of customizable graphics settings and support for 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios.
- Multithreaded engine that takes advantage of quad core CPUs.
- Additional options our fans have sought after, such as field of view adjustment as well as “hide HUD”.
- Works with AMD Eyefinity 3D 3-screen mode.
- Works with NVIDIA NVISION2 Stereoscopic 3D.
Are you going to be purchasing Alan Wake for the PC later this month?

Xbox just losing more exclusives.

30usd is a good price point, and the added features such as eyefinity and fov adjustment shows that this isn't your grandmas port. I might give it a whirl. Maybe enough purchases will teach them to not alienate their fanbase again,

FINALLY! I was so looking forward to this game and was upset when shortly before release it was declared a 360 exclusive. Course I have only 3 weeks to play it til Mass Effect 3 comes out....

i remember a time when i was waiting to be able to play games under linux, now i have to be glad if games even get released for windows. and why? cause nowadays even windows is too complicated for the average gamer.

@bigtimvan2: I wouldn't be so smug because the same thing is happening with Witcher 2 (same for Torchlight II as well) for the consoles. The PC version is available for a quite some time and much cheaper now, while you guys have to pay full or near retail price. Also, the extra contents on the console version is available for free on the PC. Honestly, on the choice between those two games, I rather play Witcher 2 than Alan Wake, as it's a much better game.

What's really sad is that
given the PC games I've played,
these features aren't standard anymore.

congrats pc players you get to play a game that is just about 3 years old. Just heads up when the game is out ten days later xbl and psn gets the new alan wake game so yeah its already outdated.

To little to late. Lets break down their extra's for this former PC exclusive direct-X 10 flasgship turned 360 exclusive.
Experience Alan Wake s Pacific Northwest in higher resolutions and higher fidelity than ever before.
>So it has multiple resolutions. So do 99% of PC games.
Refined and fully configurable mouse and keyboard support (or if you prefer to play with the Microsoft
gamepad connected to your PC, you can do that too!)
>Wow! I can change my keys or use a 360 controller?! you mean like every PC game out there since 92!?
A wide selection of customizable graphics settings and support for 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios.
>You mean like every PC game since 02?
Multithreaded engine that takes advantage of quad core CPUs.
>You mean like every PC title since 08?
Additional options our fans have sought after, such as field of view adjustment as well as hide HUD .
>You mean like every PC game has had since 99?
Works with AMD Eyefinity 3D 3-screen mode.
>whoo! it does 3d! like most AAA releases
Works with NVIDIA NVISION2 Stereoscopic 3D.
>See above.
So all these extra's we get are standard and they are touting them as amazing things they went out of thier way for. Seeing as this started as a PC exclusive in 06, This is worthless.
