We're all good and excited for the November 20 release of Resident Evil 6, right? How would you like to try the game before then? Perhaps as soon as July? You'll have that option, provided that you're an Xbox 360 user who is willing to buy Capcom's action-RPG Dragon's Dogma on May 22.
The publisher confirms that Xbox 360 users will get early access to the demo with the purchase of the May release. The demo will be available for those folks starting on July 3. PlayStation 3 users will have to wait until September 4 for that demo access, provided that they too purchase Dragon's Dogma.
Wait, what? Yes: PS3 users will still need to buy the game to have less early "early access" to the RE6 demo. No, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Capcom reportedly described the move to Boxden (via CVG) as "a strategic business decision." Which realy doesn't tell us anything more, does it?

A very stupid decision since the 360 is viewed so poorly, but just goes to show that M$ is getting desperate. They can't hold an exclusive worth a damn so now they have to buy demos and DLC. Lol.
Doesn't matter to me. 360 has no value worth adding to my huge collection and I'm not interested in the Dogma game either. Honestly I wasn't too thrilled with the FPS spin they put on RE4 and 5, so this will likely wait for a markdown before I try it.

I would be pissed if I hadn't planned on buying Dragon's Dogma already.
For those gamers that are uninformed check out gameplay of DD on youtube it looks awesome.

Things like this are always looked at so negatively... I should be seen more as a bonus to what appears to be an awesome game...Although it is a good marketing campaign, you should get Dragon's Dogma for what it is... I have the belief that marketing such as this comes from a gaming world that is so full sequels and franchises that too many people are scared to try something new or different... HALO 3 multiplayer beta was enough to help sell Crackdown and people found that it was a pretty fun game... However I don't think a demo of Resident Evil is quite as awesome as the H3 beta...

No console/fanboy wars please, is not even worth it lol. Im a Sony fanboy but I could care less about getting the demo early. If your not planning on playing Dragons Dogma, just wait for the demo to be released publicly. Its not like theres a "special" item or something if you play early. Not really a big deal.

I wonder how often these promotions actually increase sales. If Dragon's Dogma is good I'll check it out but there is no way I would buy a $60 game just to get early or any other type of access to a demo.

I have no desire to even try this demo. If gamers are THAT enthusiastic to play a demo, it serves them right to have to pay.

Personally, I think it's to make up for Playstation getting all of the exclusives for SFxT while xbox got none.

PS3 gets whole games(excluisives) where as the 360 just gets demos & dlc(exclusives). LMFAO @ microsoft.

Broke 360 owners, and console yapping, all over again. Who cares. Just wait for the demo to drop regularly don't be a sheep and buy content you don't want/need just to 'early' demo a crap game. The series is stale.
