There's really only one thing that any of us can say to the news that Konami is releasing The Simpsons Arcade Game for XBLA and PSN: it's about freaking time. I'm pretty sure that fans have been asking for a downloadable release of the coin-op classic since the two current-gen HD consoles launched. *I* certainly have.
The Simpsons Arcade Game will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade first... TOMORROW. It'll cost you 800 MS Points, Game Informer confirms. A PSN release will follow on Tuesday of next week; the price is $9.99 on Sony's console, or free if you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber. Value! In addition to four-player online co-op you'll also find unlockable bonus art and a "never-before-seen" Japanese version of the game.
Best. News. Ever.

Holy crap, never have I seen such an immature generation of gamers than this one of the new millenia. HD *insert console name here* fanboys & PC elitists alike.
Can't we all just be happy about the game itself instead of bickering over who has the better hardware? Technically, you don't have the most superior hardware if you have a console--period. That shouldn't inhibit you from having fun with the platform you prefer, but it's true as new PC hardware rolls out annually and sometimes semi-annually.
So get over yourselves, and at least try to remain on topic and courteous to others in expressing your opinions. We may not always agree, but we at least have it within all of us to act like civilized beings.

Wow, this might inspire my to actually get a 360... But for the amount of money I'd spend on the console and online over the years, I might as well see if I can't just find a Simpson's arcade cabinet.

I guess the 360 community is so used to getting jobbed they are jealous of a company actually rewarding them with NICE FREE incentives for paying for a service. I have all 3 systems. Ps3 > Wii > 360. Deal with it haters who can't think for themselves.

As a hardcore Xbox 360 gamer(borderline fanboy even) I gotta tip my hat off to Sony and give credit where credit is due....
Good call with offereing the game for free to PSN+ subscribers, and One-up on Microsoft. I've been waiting for free games beside demos from Microsoft for Live Gold members since forever. I knew it wasn't impossible, and to see Sony force their hand like that in my opinion was a good move.

all you playstation lamers shut up you really dont know how dumb you sound playstation sux i love gaming and i guarantee the download time will blow yours out the water and i wont have to sit there and wait for it to install forever lol you get it free with a paid subscription double standard there 15 year olds know nothing about gaming bottom line xbox live blows out psn thats a fact not a fanboy plea ask anybody whose a gamer not a fanboy i got a ps3 sittin right here but enjoy playing with ppl online with a good experience via xbox playstations for the lonely guy call your local gamestop the most returned controllers the ps3 controllers they cost more the wireless reception sux i mean playstation has cool features but for an online experience 3260 got it hands down look at stats and not fanboy forums

PS+ beats Xbox live. Trolls are just jealous that they gotta pay for it. No sympathy for the cry babies on here, instead throw fruit at them. No hate on Xbox players, just the ones who spend time putting PS down just because they bought the wrong console.

Wow some mad xbpx kid came here to thumb downed every PS user comment, well, yeah we are getting the simpsons arcade game for FREE!! as FREE as is our online gaming, you pay $50 bux for PS+ but it gives you $500+ of free content so you tell me, what kind of rental is that?
Don't forget to pay for your right to play online on your console, bye...

Tough choice...while I will def be getting this there is some charm about going to the bowling alley with 10 pounds of quarters and standing in front of a machine with 3 other friends playing the game. Though I always felt bad for the person who got Homer because on that machine the "Homer" player couldn't walk left. AH the joys of the arcade!

PS+ definitely pays off, I won't pay anything for the game =D. And it's not that the game comes to bxox first, the PS store updates every tuesday, last tuesday was jan 31th and the game has a february release. well, at least Sony doesnt go as low as paying to get something first LOL. Also the title of the article is misleading, if you are going to talk about both versions of the game, why do you only include one version on the title? Sometimes I wonder how some people who can't even write a title get into journalism...
