During a quarterly financial call yesterday, Activision dropped some interesting stats on FPS Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. There are more than 40 million monthly active users across all COD releases, and Call of Duty Elite boasts 7 million users with 1.5 million paid annual members. Activision reported that it is working on Call of Duty Elite 2.0, which will add new features and will support the next major series entry, due to launch later this year.
Basically, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a very successful video game. The most successful ever, according to Activision. To make sure we understand the dominance of MW3 over every other video game and other piece of entertainment ever in history, Broadband Choices sent us a huge infographic outlining the ways in which Modern Warfare 3 has trounced all competitors. I've taken some interesting slices of the scroll-like thing and pasted them below the "Read More" tag, but if you want to view the entire thing, click there... it's a huge file, though.

I signed up because I had to Chime in on this thread.
I've played both games, One more than the other. I am a professional gamer, which means I actually get paid to play video games.
BF2 was a very good game. The campaign was very entertaining as well as the MP.
With that said, BF3 is horrible in my opinion. They focused so much on the graphics, they forgot about basic movement. When I am crawling sideways, it shouldn't look like I'm crawling forward. When I am aiming my gun and turning, it shouldn't sway like water. Realistically, when I aim and move with a real gun, its firm and precise.
The campaign for BF3 was boring and repetitive.
The main reason why more people enjoy MW3 over BF3 is not because they haven't played it. It's because MW3 has a very entertaining campaign and more realistic MP. They always have, so why would someone not want a good game every year.
For every 1 BF3 fan, there is 10 MW3 fans. You don't like MW3, we get it. The other 96% of gamers disagree, and you will never make a valid point to anyone who knows anything about games in detail. Just give up, you are beat and you know it. Now go back to playing your Dance Dance Revolution... I mean BF3... sorry.

when will the devs start looking at thier own forums and give us pc gamers what we want, they have sold us a defunct product and we have suggested ways to fix it, bit get no response from the devs, pathetic really. i will never buy another cod product unless they fix mw3 on pc..

No one seems to be getting the picture, call of duty copy and pastes itself over and over and over again, you can be playing modern warfare 2 right now and i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between modern warfare 2 and modern warfare 3. Battlefield 3 on the other hand does have SIGNIFICANT differences from its past games, which were all fun in my opinion. Call of Duty gameplay just eventually becomes stale and tastes like spoiled bread touched by many hobos from Brooklyn, New York. If you quite honestly think Modern Warfare 3 is a fantastic game and don't realize it copied itself for the past 5 years then be my guest, but that's just wasting $60 every year on something you already have.

All you silly people complaining about how MW3 sucks because it's the "same game..." no, no it's not the same game actually. Yes it plays basically the same way, but if you loved COD4 and MW2 why bitch about it? It's packed full of more intense moments, great characters and plot development, new modes, and gameplay that has ALWAYS been second-to-none in FPS war games. It really is a fantastic game, and I don't think that anyone who has NOT played it should whine or make any assumptions about it until they have.

Congratulations to Call of Duty. Treat it like a game, not some rockstar you're "fangirling" over though.
Both COD and BF have their strengths and weaknesses, if only people would leave it at that. They are both good games.
Though, i never really hear in BF people shouting curse words at other people, nor do i hear people calling them the F word or the N word in 50% of the matches. Maybe that's just CoD. /shrugs
Like all great things, It's not the "thing" that is good or bad, it's the "community of that thing" that make something bad. Remember i said before both BF and Cod are good games.

I feel like I should be offended by this claim. I would think Johnny Cash would be much classier and of better quality than the Modern Warfare games.

COD = Same old game engine, same old perks, same old same old.
BF3 = new game engine. true programers trying to bring you something new.
As a gamer I want something new not just another map pack. INNOVATION!

Why does it seem like the same set of BF3 fans get really angry when anything positive about MW3 comes out on any website? Can't we just agree that both games were good for what they were worth. Does knowing MW3 sold more copies and made more money really take away from the experience you get from playing BF3? If so, then I truly feel sorry for you. But then again, the internet does seem to be the most popular place for people to vent all of their problems.

Activision is repeating its own history with Call of duty just as it did with guitar hero.
Create a great game differen from all others. Make a sequal or two developing it and making a good product. And then suddenly give up on making advancements and release a new game each year milking the series. finally people will realize. "wait, this is the exact same thing" and then sales will drop until there are virtually none.
Just like guitar hero but within a different genre.

99 percent of the people who bought MW3 are not even old enough to play the game. the reason i dont play COD anymore is because of all the 5year olds screaming in my ear every game i got into on my xbox. I havent bought MW3 nor will i. ill stick to BF3 on the pc where the big boys play. have fun playin with kids

I'm sorry but why do they make a big deal about this being the first game where OpFor doesn't appear? OpFor stands for opposing force; the Opfor isn't an actual enemy.
