More Nintendo news, readers, specifically, news of the dear leader of the world of Nintendo, Mario. There is a new 2D, side-scrolling Super Mario game in the works for the Nintendo 3DS. No other information was revealed about the title, beyond the expected launch window sometime within Nintendo's next fiscal year. That means the new Mario will be out sometime after March 2012.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Paper Mario 3DS, but maybe, hopefully, it'll show the return of the Koopalings. I would love to see a new either Super Mario World, or maybe remakes of the older Super Mario Games. Super Mario All Stars for the 3DS perhaps?

I think most of you might be right. It's likely to be Paper Mario 3D. However I'm hoping it'll be a Mario game with the return of Baby Bowser or the Koopalings once again. I never get enough of those guys. New Super Mario Bros. 2? So many new level ideas including the Ghost Houses.

Actually the 2D games look amazing on the 3DS. Just because its a 2D platformer doesn't mean it remains in 2D. For example Mutant Muds has you switch between forground and background and it looks great. And with Nintendo you know it's going to use the system to its full potential.

Call it a crazy thought, but I'd like to imagine when they do make this Mario game that they make some of their (or extra) levels as challenging as the Lost Levels game on the NES.
Just a thought, that is all.
