Unfortunately for Capcom, it seems as though the company has mistakenly botched the Resident Evil: Revelations box art packaging. The company accidentally put Resident Evil: Revelaitons on the spine of their upcoming Nintendo 3DS game.
I'm not going to say that I never make typos. In fact, many of you point them out to me on a daily basis. But this is a game that has already been sent out to retailers as it has a February 7th release date, which means it's definitely too late to fix.
While this is a super embarrassing mistake, Capcom also is known for publishing early copies of Okami for the Wii with an IGN watermark on the cover.
Who knows, maybe the Revelations cover will become a collector's item or something? Even though many people love to make fun of people for their mistakes, we feel awful for Capcom and we'll let you know if they release an official statement on the mixup.

MGS: herderp (revengence) is a horrible title, what caused them to make such a stupid move!? i don't like it, it does not fit.

Perhaps this was intentional like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance? Totally not a word like Revelaitions but a mixture of two bad ass word . Revenge and Vengeance. Maybe its Reveal and Haitians? Are there Haitians in this game?

Did anyone else notice how "Revelations" on the front side of the cover was spelled correctly even though the side wasn't?

That is hilarious. Seriously though, how do you not give that one last glance before finalizing and shipping it? Are all the cases like that or just some? This just goes to show, no part is too small: Even the guy who's in charge of box art.
Maybe don't forget that Christmas bonus next time, aye Capcom.

Well, I'd say it serves them right for choosing the cheap 2-second option for the spine. I've always been a little annoyed when some games decide to put the title on the spine in a generic font like they just don't care. I want my games proudly displayed in a row on my shelf, not mistaken for bootlegs!
