It's Thursday, and that means it's time to beg you to ask us questions on next week's Feedback. Each episode, we set aside time to answer your questions, no matter how serious, personal, or even topical they are. Next week will be no different. Our game of the week will be Final Fantasy 13-2 but you can ask any gaming related question you think of. If I choose your question you'll receive a special mystery prize!

Both Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Asura's Wrath have quick time events. Which one does it better?

We're all awaiting the installation of Mass Effect to follow the stellar Mass Effect 2. I, however, find myself apprehensive. This game, which I was so hopeful for I find myself fearing for some of the announcements made about the game.
This game has been exceptionally story driven hitherto. But now there's a war on, I'm wondering how much time one is going to be able to spend on various 'side missions' that did such a wonderful job fleshing out the characters in the previous games; the thing that made the game so rich to begin with. Clearly these things are not mutually exclusive, but I'm getting the feeling this might be action heavy, rather than story driven, which I think would be a mistake. As well, I look at some of the elements that have been advertised as being a part of the game, multiplayer co-op in particular. Somehow I just don't see this meshing well with what Mass Effect has been. The idea of hearing someone talk during dialogue in the game just makes me shudder. As well, the idea of griefing. I could allow myself to have an "emotional investment" in a work of fiction like Mass Effect 2 but with other people hanging around talking, or dispensing spoilers just to ruin the game for you makes me wonder how good an idea those elements were.
Whenever they show content for the game, it's the fights with the progenitors that they show, not the human stuff. And it does seem like a LOT of action stuff, so much I wonder if they've had time to do anything but action stuff. Remember that SWTOR came out during the development cycle of ME3.
My question is essentially this? Do any of these issues" worry" you. Clearly it's not the same as Newt Gingrich getting elected. Or the anticipation of Blair's and Jessica's clone (that is what you meant right?) but I'm concerned that

I have a question regarding women gamers. Why is it hard for guys to think that, not only do girls play games like "Mass Effect, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, etc, but that we can also be really really good at it? I've had guys say to me "You're really a girl?" up to 12 times in a match (b/c apparently my voice isn't proof enough). When I used my headset for the first time, I was greeted with "Holy bleep, she's a chick!"
Should a be upset, flattered, or pay it no mind? I'm curious as to the take of this matter by both genders.
Sincerely,
-EQ (sending men crying to their mommas in Uncharted, WoW, and Assassin's Creed MP for 3 years and counting...)

I have not played any Final Fantasy games except for 7 and 13. I was wondering which are your favourite Final Fantasy and why? Which one was your least favourite?

A lot of anticipated games are coming out this year, some of which have been on hold for a while (ex. Diablo 3, Last Guardian, Bioshock: Infinite) and some people seem to think these games may turn out to be disappointments. What is the game that you've waited the longest to play, and then turned out to be a huge disappointment? No, you can't say Duke Nukem Forever, it's still too soon.

final fantasy thirteen was the first and so far only final fantasy game i have played, do you think i should go directly into final fantasy 13-2 or go back to some of the earlier games in the franchise before i play it

"Somewhere along the way, people convinced themselves that an Elite subscription would trump the 2010 DLC exclusivity deal that was created before Elite existed; that by paying for Elite, they were somehow invalidating a contract between Activision and Microsoft. It doesn't make any sense, but it is what people started to think," wrote Amrich, self-described as Activision's "blogger".
The Xbox 360 exclusivity deal remains valid until the end of 2012, and declares that all Call of Duty DLC appear first on Xbox 360.
This period of exclusivity was typically 30 days with Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC.
"It was never one of the things listed in the official benefits chart; it was never promised by any representative of Activision, Call of Duty, Elite, or its developers."
He pressed on: "Honestly? I think gamers just convinced themselves that it would happen because they wanted it to happen. That makes sense, but it doesn't make it true."
Even the Call of Duty Elite FAQ and Amrich's own previous blog post about Call of Duty Elite specified this not to be the case.
"So that's where we are," Amrich concluded. "The deal from 2010 is why DLC comes out on Xbox 360 first.
"I'm seeing people scream 'rip-off' and stuff like that, but nobody's going to get ripped off; every gamer will get everything they were promised and everything they paid for.
"It's unfortunate that people assumed things about Elite that turned out to not be based in fact, but I hope the truth is clear now.
"Unpopular, I'm guessing, but clear."

The release date for the Xbox version of The Witcher 2 was recently announced. Do you think there's a market for releasing games for other platforms months after the initial release, or will people dismiss it since it's not a completely new title?

Taco Bell has the exlclusive rights to give away the PS Vita before it launches in North America. The promotion started yesterday. Given that sales are low so far in Japan, is this a desperation move by Sony? How much longer can they and Nintendo continue in the handheld console game market that is now dominated by the IPhone and Android phones?

i assume you'll talk about the next xbox not playing used games rumor. I have not heard anyones opinion on the PlayStation Vita. I feel the Japanese launch was odd because there were not many Japanese friend games. What do you guys/girls think? Do you think the US launch will go better?

I am very happy to see that G4 is going to start including half stars in their reviews and am looking forward to seeing how the added nuance plays out going forward. It makes me wonder are there any games you have reviewed in the past that you wish you could have used half stars on? Any games so bad they deserved a 0.5 (Dynasty Warriors clones spring to mind) or games that were so close to a 5 but not quite there?

I have been a FF fan since I first played FFVI back in 1994 on the snes. And since then I've been an avid fan playing and beating each installment. However ever since Mr. Hironobu Sakaguchi left Square-Enix I feel that the FF series has slowly gone downhill since FF10-2. Now Square-Enix relies on new talent as well as Mr. Tetsuya Nomura to make the newer FF games. Do you think the series will stand the test of time without the original father of the series at the helm anymore, or does the series need new blood in order to survive the coming years of fandom and expectation?

I was given a copy of FF1 from a friend who was dying of Lou Gherig's disease and couldn't play the game anymore because of his spasms. It was 1989 and I was 9 years old when I first played the FF series. I spend the Summer of 1991 mowing lawns to buy a SNES and FF2 (4j) and 260$ was not an easy feat for an 11 year old to push in a couple short months. My love affair with the series started then and even though I went the way of the jock in adolescence my secret rendezvous with my favorite series of games continued in the shadows in my time away from the soccer ball and chasing cheerleaders.
The only two FF games I never purchased were 9 and 13. 9 because I just never got around to it and the few times I did play it I just never got hooked yet in later years I grew to appreciate it when a friend left me a copy as a "Sayonara" to his gaming habit/collection. I have yet to pick up a PS3 considering I originally bought a PS2 for the strict purpose of playing FF10, lets not talk about 10-2 eh?
I watched a Let's Play video on 13 and was neither enthralled with the story or battle system. I was one of those crazies who really enjoyed FF8, not to mention my mid-teens hormones really made me identify with Squall. I still don't have a drive to play 13 and if 13-2 is a continuation (it is) it seems they've gone too far into the modern JRPG with ditzy girls, ridiculous attire and the feeling of a bubblegum pop game theme with some swords and guns thrown in for authenticity.
My modern choices have been great combos like the Mass Effect series and I've played a bit of the Crysis games to get my FPS fix, Oblivion/Skyrim for the real feel and a bit of an obsession with SWTOR currently isn't helping my fitness level for sure! Let's hope that SE finds the right stroke for the upcoming FF games and helps me remember what it was like to dive into that immersion and complexity, this time I hope it doesn't take a dear friend dying to turn me on to the series again.

Do you guys think games that were released early in the year (ex: Witcher 2, Dead space 2) can be ignored for yearly awards, or were games like Skyrim so good it over shadows those early games.

This question will probably have nothing to do with that is discussed on the show but since you all seem to have an uncanny power to enact change with Feedback I need your help.
Can you help me convince Nintendo to bring Jet Force Gemini to the Wii Virtual Console?

Any chance you guys can investigate the privacy issues with EA's Origin ?
I'm not ordering ME3 if it requires me to install spyware on my PC.
