The release date for both Ubisoft's I Am Alive and Alan Wake's American Nightmare have been announced. We knew the window when these eagerly awaited titles would come out on Xbox Live, but let's get down to specifics:
- Alan Wake's American Nightmare hits the XBL on February 22.
- I Am Alive makes its debut on March 7.
We've recently previewed each ot these titles, and while a preview is not a review, the "buzz" is pretty healthy on each. Check out our Alan Wake's American Nightmare preview and our I Am Alive preview.
Both games are part of Microsoft's upcoming Xbox Live House Party that kicks off on February 15. The other games on the block: Warp and NEXUIZ, which will be released on February 15 and February 29 respectively.
For more House Party details, check out the official details of each game below:
WARP** (Electronic Arts)
February 15 | 800 Microsoft Points | M17+
Play as Zero, a lovable-yet-lethal orange alien with a big score to settle in this puzzle-based stealth action game! Captured by the villainous Commander and imprisoned in his underwater facility, Zero must plan his ultimate escape using his arsenal of alien abilities — warp, frag, echo, swap and launch.
ALAN WAKE’S AMERICAN NIGHTMARE (Microsoft Studios)
February 22 | 1200 Microsoft Points | Teen
Can you survive until sunrise? In this brand-new stand-alone experience, Alan Wake fights the herald of darkness, the evil Mr. Scratch. A thrilling new storyline, hordes of creepy enemies, serious firepower and beautiful Arizona locations combined with a fun and challenging new game mode, make this a must for Alan Wake veterans and the perfect jumping-on point for new players.
NEXUIZ (THQ)
February 29 | 800 Microsoft Points | Teen
For centuries, the Kavussari and the Forsellians have waged war. They have a fragile truce but, because of their seething disgust of each other, still pit warriors against each other in arenas rather than on the fields of war. These episodes of lethal combat are broadcast throughout the galaxy as entertainment – a spectacle known as The Nexuiz Competition – an arena-based first-person shooter where you can alter the rules of the match and the laws of physics while dominating opponents in ever-changing hostile environments.
I AM ALIVE (Ubisoft)
March 7 | 1200 Microsoft Points | M17+
One year after a worldwide cataclysmic event wiped out most of human civilization, a man struggles for survival. Faced with an insecure, decaying and hazardous world, he scours a desolated city, searching for his long-lost wife and daughter. Survive the suffocating, murky streets covered in dust. Climb the teetering remains of last-standing skyscrapers to reach breathable air and find untouched resources. Explore the crumbling ruins of a once-thriving metropolis. Discover a changed human condition, punctuated by distrustful survivors, dangerous armed gangs and victims in need.

I Am Alive looks cool. I'm not really looking forward to the new Alan Wake dlc that much. I'll still get it eventually, but I am not really excited for it.

I was thinking, I am Alive is being made by the same group that makes assassin's creed so if u think about it I am Alive should play like what ac3 should be if its is gonna be in modern times.

I'm looking forward to I Am Alive, a fresh new take on the post apocalyptic game. Also nice that we finally have a release date.

ive noticed more and more games costing 1200 points and just my opinion but some of them just arent worth it..but i am alive and american nightmare might be worth it by the looks of em..id still wait for demos or more info though before i invest that much..

Do I need the Alan Wake game to play, the DLC Alan Wake American Nightmare. If so I might have to rebuy the game again.
BONERJAM
I'm very interested in Alan Wake: American Nightmare but I'm going to skip it for now. I have Bastion, Skyrim and AC:R to beat before I spend any more money.
