Sir David Jaffe, himself, has detailed Twisted Metal's online pass. David had previously mentioned he hoped an Online Pass wouldn't be necessary for his game. In a video blog, Jaffe shared his opinions on why he's "torn" on the issue of online passes. He hoped to get as many people playing Twisted Metal online as possible. In the end it wasn't his call. "It's Sony's game, and they funded it, and I respect their decision."
The Twisted Metal news doesn't stop there. The staple vehicular-combat game will have a demo, I assume before it's February 14th launch. On top of that, Twisted Metal will also have a Day 1 patch to fix any balancing issues still present.
You can watch David's video blog after the jump. Warning, strong, Jaffe language.
Twisted Metal will be released on Valentines Day, February 14th, exclusively for the PS3.

No Spectre? Honestly I might still buy the game but Spectre was my favorite vehicle. I've never understood the Sweettooth-centric way of thinking in this IP. Guess I will be playing Crimson Fury.

omg, they brought back Crimson Fury?! I'd rather have Twister if we're going for superfast and low on armor.

aaahhhh, buy it because the cute little girl asked you to people
she wants every girl toy in the universe!

Gonna try the demo first. But most likely a release day buy for me.

Online pass = I'm not getting it. Sony just wants to ripoff and squeeze as much money out of their customers as possible, while not giving a dam about them one bit. I live off of used games, and this is an absolute deal breaker.

I'll download the demo for sure. I'm not entirely sold on this revival/sequel/reboot or whatever this new Twisted Metal is yet.
