After much speculation and hint-dropping, Capcom officially revealed Resident Evil 6 at the tail end of last week with a fairly detailed trailer and a confirmed release date of November 20, 2012. Since then, the game's official Twitter feed has been constantly churning out various tidbits in a back-and forth with fans. The game's latest outbreak is centered around Tall Oaks, the zombies will be different than what you've come to expect from the series and the control system has been "overhauled" (via Siliconera).
There's also some additional information from, oddly enough, Xbox.com. The website has been updated with a game listing for RE6 that not only confirms the presence of multiplayer and co-op modes, but also gives some intriguing numbers. In addition to offline co-op for two players, fans can look forward to playing co-op online with as many as six players. There's also an eight-player multiplayer mode, though whether that's like the previous game's Mercenaries mode or closer to the versus format in the upcoming Operation Raccoon City remains to be seen.
That is, of course, assuming that the Xbox.com listing is correct. The Twitter stuff is absolutely true, but it's certainly possible that the Xbox.com listing is nothing more than a temp page.
