Fan of Infamous 1, but Infamous 2 was just boring

The only game released this year that I played and was disappointed in was Rage. I really tried to like the game as I been a fan of id's games since Wolfenstien3D. They did give us a lot of gadgets to create. But the fact is they're pretty much not necessary to play the game when you realized that the shot gun and assault rifle can take care of the mutants easily while The Authority and bandits can be taken out with the sniper rifle. All you gotta do is stay back snipe one guy and then the next when he goes to the same position as the last guy you just sniped. From there you just gotta repeat the process cause AI sticks with this routine for most of the game.

I can't think of a game I played in 2011 that disappointed me more than Heroes of Newearth (not a 2011 release, I know). Beyond that though, I played enough Skyrim to realize that it probably should have gotten a 4/5 due of all the damn bugs/glitches... I enjoyed it when it worked though.

See what I don't understand about DNF is that G4 blasted it for linear gameplay, lack of weapons and the humor. Then they praised Fear 3... which had linear gameplay, lack of weapons and well no humor but it didn't have nearly the "spook" factor of the 1st two games. Gameplay wise, Fear 3 and DNF were identical, yet Fear 3 got 5/5 and DNF got 1/5.... I don't understand their logic? If you didn't get the humor of DNF you either (1) were born in the 90's or (2) don't want 80's action flicks.
Of course G4 also said Cataclysm was the best mmo of 2010, despite less than half of WoW subscribers actually buying it. This was before the game started its 2011 slide. Sometimes when G4 praises or blasts a game I honestly wonder if they actually played the same game I did.
I guess their writers took an arrow to the knee.

wow duke sucked that much, i watch the vid and listened to adam review it and wow i have to agree 100%, just the review n seeing what that game has i wouldnt buy it if gamestop had it for 5 dollar and a free beer, but besides thats funny stuff ^.^

Hackers going on a self righteous warpath. Their are better ways to fight the MAN. Try not giving him as much money, or stop buying the rubbish that he is peddling. You can do that without ruining the enjoyment of others just trying to have some fun gaming online.

wtf...when did adam do the buffalo bill routine?..

Dragon Age 2 for me. im going off of personal tastes though. i dont think its a bad game, or worst game of the year, but def the biggest disappointment for me. too much change from DAO "/

Adam, Morgan and the gang at X-Play are the reason i never buy a game that has been ranked any less than 4/5...and for that i thank you!

Mindjack and Bodycount were just plain forgettable

Duke Nukem should have been GOTY...lol

Duke Nukem was bad...really bad. I'd even bought a copy of the game because gamestop had it for sale @ 9.99 for black friday. Even as cheap as the game is, I'm still mad I paid even 10 dollars for it. It looked like an old PC shooter from the 90's and played like an unfinished demo. Worse title to come out on any Next Gen Console...period.
So dissapointing too, because gamers from all platforms were equally excited to play the return of such a gaming Icon, and one of the fathers of First Person Shooters...smh

Cod:MW3
I seriously can't stand that game.
I liked it when it was fun, and wasn't about being an arcade shooter where everyone "quickscopes" with a sniper. When moving in swat status to kill campers with my friends was part of the game. But, those days are gone. Now its just endless circle maps while people run around killing each other really quickly.

That Dead Island parody is pretty awesome.

I still think X-play's worst moment of 2011 was when they didn't even nominate Skyward Sword for Game of the Year, and then when it won the Videogame Deathmatch, they basically blamed it on "angry fanboys" and couldn't even say "congratulations". I'm not saying Skyward Sword should have won GOTY, but it's certainly good enough to be in the running...
