From flesh-consuming monsters to adorable droids, we know you want to eat up every morsel of information about every companion in Star Wars: The Old Republic. After all, it just wouldn't be a BioWare game without friends to gather along the way, and SWTOR is very much a BioWare game. That's why we've produced this handy companion guide, so you'll know who all The Old Republic companions are and what they can do for you.
In SW:TOR, companions complement – and sometimes compliment! – your character's strengths and fill in the soft spots left by their weaknesses. They may seem extraneous at first, but try playing the game truly solo, sans companion, and you'll come to appreciate their incredibly useful implementation. They not only come in handy gameplay-wise, but also fill out the story experience by giving their thoughts, approval, and/or disapproval to your actions. Meaning, that's right... companion gifts!
Companions are also unique to each class, so our guide is broken down as such. Be sure to check below and find your class!

- Crew skill bonus: +5 bioanalysis efficiency, +5 diplomacy critical
- Suggested gifts: Imperial Memorabilia, Cultural Artifact, Weapon
Doctor Eckard Lokin – As one of the most interesting and unique Imperial Agent companions, I'd hate to spoil Lokin's story. Let's just say not all is as it seems when you meet this curiously aloof doctor, and if you'd like to stay on his good side(s), try to think clever and think selfish.

- Suggested gifts: Military Gear, Luxury, Technology
Ensign Raina Temple – A strange and suspiciously empathetic and kind ensign of the Imperial military, Raina is not without her mystery, but is also wholeheartedly duty and honor-bound. She's a bit flirty and occasionally seems to have an angle, so watch her closely, agent.

should also note that if you are lightside sith warrior, jaesa will be a tank, and remain loyal to the jedi. if you're darkside, she goes completely psychotic, is dps, and is utterly loyal to you and you alone, forget the sith, she worships the ground you walk on and would kill everyone in the galaxy if you willed it.
also, with sith inquisitor, xalek will always be the opposite of you. if you're an assassin, he will be a sorceror, if you're a sorceror, he will be an assassin.

The Bounty Hunter, I think, gets the healing companion too early. MAKO is a jem and makes any solo Bounty Hunter easy as pie. I can not tell you the number of times I survived encounters that I should have died, becauseof her heals! keep her well armored and give her lots of cunning and you can do very well! Then we also have the jawa! That Jawa is a hoot and so cute and cuddley! If you like the voice acting of Bleach, then you can have that Torian Cadera. Since most of the companions use AIM and heavy armor, dont throw away them moddable armor! Likewise, if you completely upgrade an armor item (get a new armor piece), you can give your companions your old armor item.
Mako uses medium armor, a blaster, and cunning... (even on blasters).
Having a high level jawa fully geared in tank armor, and having a purple pistol... is a sight to behold! R2D2 and all the droids in the Republic will soon be my salvage to collect, thanks BLIZZ! BLIZZ FOR PREZ!

For those who have not bought into the "Security Key" for the game.... DONT. Unless you buy the physical USB security key device.
I had the smartphone app for my iphone and after my iphone needed a restore, I could not access my account through swotor.com nor could I log into the game.
The only way that I was able to get back into the game is to call Bioware and eliminate the security key function from my account. Reinstalling the app and entering the info did not help either.
Theres a few threads on the swotor forum about this and its becoming apparent that Bioware did not out enough thought into it.

I like Vette if you know what I mean

I was hoping for an Ewok...
To tie to my chest for extra armor.

I'm a Jedi Consular with Qyzen Fess and I have a few problems:
His Bio says he can equip vibroblades. He can't. He can only use techblades. Simple typing mistake that was overlooked, but took me a while to figure out I wasn't doing something wrong.
He starts off weilding a techstaff. Which is neither a vibroblade or a techblade. He cannot equip any other techstaffs in the game. Uh... wtf?
Despite basing his entire life around hunting and adventuring, he doesn't accept hunting trophies as companion gifts. Uh, okay... At least in Dragon Age I knew what to give everyone.

As a bounty hunter, it makes me feel really badass knowing that Ichigo (from Bleach) is following me around killing people. Except he is called Torian in this world. Its the same voice actor, and he does an excellent as does the rest of the voice actors.

Would be very helpful if you also added to your guide, the planets where you acquire these companions. I think it's kind of crazy how long the Sith Inquisitor is stuck with their first companion.
