Rev up those chainsaw bayonets, folks. It's time for some Horde mode. Beast and Versus too. I guess. We all know Horde is where it's at though. Today ushers in the release of the Fenix Rising map pack for Gears of War 3, the third of four planned major DLC releases for Epic Games' September 2011 title.
In addition to adding five news maps to the game -- Academy, Anvil, Depths, Escalation and The Slab -- the pack also gives player four new character skins (Recruit Clayton, Thrashball Cole - Limited Edition, Savage Marauder and Savage Kantus - Limited Edition) and a new Re-up option, which is essentially the Gears take on Prestige Mode.
The Fenix Rising pack is available on Xbox Live now for 800 MS Points, or for free in-game if you happen to own a Gears of War 3 Season Pass. Remember, Pass-holders: do not choose any options to buy it; the game should prompt you to download the next time you fire it up!

i had no problem with the download on the release day and if i did, well i'd just wait until they fixed it, not cry and get angry about it. i have the season pass too. people need to have patience, because it's not like this never happens and Epic usually responds to the problem right away. i recommend playing some Skyrim to cure those frustrations.

@AngelsandDemons & MasterKiller64- Did you even read my comment?? As a season pass holder, I am well aware of the fact that I can only download the DLC through the in game marketplace. No where in my comment did I ever say that I tried downloading it through the dashboard marketplace, or any other marketplace for that matter. But like I mentioned in my previous comment, it was not available for download through their in game main menu marketplace, it didn't even prompt me for download. Because even then, it still asked me to pay 800 MS points. This isn't the first time this happened, since they had the same exact issue for the Shadow of Raam DLC. I can only assume that the issue didn't effect you two superstars of intellect like it did me, and that the issue has been resolved by now, but at the time when I was prepared to download(7:00am pst) it was not recognizing the fact that I was a Season Pass holder.
If this never happened before I wouldn't have any reason to make comment now would I... GENIUS!!?? Think before you type...it'll only help you to not seem so stupid next time.

@lowkevmic....Did you even bother to read the freakin story....the author even BOLDED it. You download the DLC from the in game menus, not from the XBOK Live Menus, genius.....READ.

Unfortunately, just like all the other dlc free to season pass holders, I was unable to download the map pack without seeing only the option to buy.
I love Gears 3, I really do, and the season pass is awesome. But this is getting pretty annoying. Epic and Microsoft is well aware of the release dates for all of the DLC, so I am confused as to why each one has been released with some sort of delay for season pass holders?? Just give us our map packs already!!
