If Saints Row: The Third hadn't come out swinging in November to completely dominate any Game of the Year thoughts in my mind, Dark Souls would have been the easy pick. From Software really nailed the formula that was first introduced in 2009's Demon's Souls, delivering an open-world RPG that is as challenging as it is satisfying. Now, PC gamers want in on that action.
An online petition urging Namco Bandai to port Dark Souls to PC platforms launched last week, and 66,000 names have signed up so far in support of it. There's no announced plan from the publisher to move forward with a port, but a post on Namco's community forums (via Joystiq) reveals that the petition has caught the notice of some higher-ups within the company.
"I honestly wasn't expecting such a massive support," Namco forums administrator shoupinou writes in a forum post carrying a "Damn you are amazing!" header. "My boss(es) even came to talk to me about this, after it explodes all around the world."
"If you wanted to have the attention of Namco Bandai Games, now you have it. The future is in your hands, and I hope you will keep supporting this. I make a personal objective to make sure every relevant people in Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort. Great Thanks!"
As I said, hardly confirmation that PC port is in the works. But Namco is aware of your desires, petition-signing PC gamers, and there's now significantly more hope than there was a week ago that a PC release might happen.

At the end of the day who cares about this game and there will be better titles for PC gamers in the near future and this is coming from a console gamer. So why bash each other consoles of choice just to prove their console is superior while gamers should stay united under the title That We ARE GAMERS. Besides at the end of the day this is just a game not something someone should be mad over.

Diablo 3 is a PC exclusive.
Sure they are just hiring people for a console version but knowing Blizzard you wont see a version of that game on Console for a couple years. May even have to wait for the next gen consoles to see it.
So as of right now we can calling it a time sensitive exclusive like Witcher 2 and how Crysis and Torchlight were.

I fell that this game for gamers is either you love it or hate it and I for one hate it. I'm not saying its a bad game but it's not for me in the slightest just figured I'd add my two cents

First of all from all the dumb sh#t i've read in
this thread i'll clear a few things up.
1. Diablo3 is NOT PC exclusive.
2. Upgrading a PC every few years
is about on par with buying a new console.
(probably less if you just need to upgrade
video cards)
3. PC gaming is superior to every other
kind of gaming, factually speaking.
4. If the Souls series came to PC and
more specifically STEAM it would have
the longevity that all PC titles do, ie:
could sell copies steadily over a number of
years and not just disappear into obscurity
like console titles tend to do.

Makes sense. They are almost getting 66000 sales guaranteed on a port. I'm sure it actually doesn't cost a tremendous amount of money to port games. I'd invest in something with that kinda support.

I don't play the PC whatsoever but wouldn't the port just let people hack, and play the game unfairly?

Haven't finished Demon's Souls yet, but I was a little bummed at having bought LA Noire on the ps3 then find out it came to pc as well.

Although I wouldn't buy it for the PC either, I'm for Dark Souls getting a PC release as well.
And while Namco's at it, localize Tales of Vesperia PS3.

PC guys, dont get your hopes up for a port. the most you will see is Dark Souls 2 on all platforms.....When the Dark Souls community reached out to From Software and Namco Bandai about how the online servers were set up, they said all the same stuff. yes we hear you. we are working on it, even s far as to getting our hopes up about the next patch....but it was never solved. and because of that Dark Souls ended up being a fail compared to Demons Souls imo.
Demons Souls >>>> Dark Souls.

I think Dark Souls on p.c would be great i mean i won't buy on P.C cause i have it already for PS3 but it would be even better if they would do Demons Souls instead, after all its 100% more enjoyable then Dark Souls in every way (IMO) but then that would have to bring in Atlus i guess....that sucks, i hope they make a Demons Souls 2 cause Dark Souls let me down big time in terms of quality,bosses,character builds, A.I and of course Dark Souls lower difficulty, sorry for the rant but still Dark Souls on P.C so everyone can enjoy this solid RPG :) Hell, i may not buy it for P.C but ill sign it just in support.

All games that were cross-platform this year. Steam sales have doubled in the past year. Skyrim's PC version outsold both console versions. This is why no one likes you console fanboys.

This game was weak..I was stuck on the first boss forever, just to find out that you don't even hit him, you walk around him to get into a door? WTF? That isn't "nailing it" to me....
