The Internet has been abuzz lately regarding a rumor that Diablo 3 is coming to consoles. In a Twitter conversation between Diablo fan TaNGoIX and Blizzard community manager Micah "Bashiok", TaNGoIX asked Bashiok to, "confirm or deny Diablo 3 coming to consoles," and Bashiok simply replied, "Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project.”
This is where a lot of the confusion started. Could this have been a confirmation that Diablo 3 is in fact coming to consoles or was Bashiok just stating that there is in fact a Diablo console project?
We've known for quite a while now that it's possible Blizzard is working on a Diablo console port, having posted many openings for positions on the project. But as of right now, a Blizzard spokesperson has confirmed that what Bashiok said was misleading, and that Diablo 3 has in fact, not been confirmed for a console release.
Here's what Blizzard had to say:
"Bashiok’s response on Twitter was intended as a confirmation that we’re actively exploring the possibility of developing a console version of Diablo III, as we’ve mentioned in the past. This is not a confirmation that Diablo III is coming to any console platform. Our focus right now is on finishing the PC/Mac version of Diablo III and making sure it’s a worthwhile successor to the Diablo series."
It doesn't get anymore official than that. This quote does lead us to believe that a D3 console port is definitely in the works and is most likely happening in the future, but for right now the PC/Mac version is getting first priority.
Now we just need to hear about a confirmed release date for the action RPG and we'll all be happy.

PC users, keep your Diablo 3, we as console owners want some Baldurs Gate 3!!!

Just curious to know how well a game like this would play out on the consoles. I don't have such a great computer and would actually prefer to play this on a console rather than upgrading (if this is indeed true) but, for a game that's pretty much point and click, how do they typically transfer games like that over to the consoles?

So happy to hear this! I always wondered if Blizzard would ever try Diablo on the console again. I enjoyed playing Diablo I on the PS with friends! I definately think it is worth a shot. I wouldn't be surprised if they go the Sony route again. :)

They really need to make up there freaking minds. All they are doing is pissing off fans who have been waiting 11 years for this game. At this rate it's going to be the next Duke Nukem Forever and when it is released no one will really freaking care anymore because Blizzard is "Soooo busy" with releasing yet another craptastic exspantion for WoW which should had died a while ago.

Be nice if they just said it outright: "yes, we might end up doing one later" or "we can't make it work, it's never going to consoles". This whole dancing-around-the-issue thing they do kind of bugs me.

it's Blizzard, they always take ages to release. But at least you know you're getting a good game. I'd rather wait to have a proper finished game than some of the half baked releases that come out at the moment with promised patch fixes for the numerous bugs.
