It was confirmed at the tail end of last year that Obsidian Entertainment is working with Trey Parker and Matt Stone on putting together an RPG based on the creative duo's hit TV series, South Park. The news was revealed in a Game Informer cover story, complete with in-game screens. Those images, along with a few others, are now online for your viewing pleasure.
As you can see in the above screenshot and the two after the jump, South Park: The Game appears to look like any random episode of the TV series. This is a good thing. Most of the screens appear to be showcasing the game's combat. To see more enjoy the full South Park The Game gallery.

i have really high hopes for this one. trey and matt seem like they're really involved in the making of this one and obsidian, although not perfect, has released some good stuff. can't wait!

I love that the Elf ears are just tied on with a string and a little loop at the chin. Looks like we'll get to do some dirty hippie bashing too. I am so excited for this one!

I want to put my faith in this, but I need to see some actual gameplay. I'm not a fan of turn-based fighting, but I did tolerate Costume Quest. Hopefully it can diminish the stigma I have with the genre.
