Rift Mobile App Beta Launched For iOS Devices -- Android Release Coming Later In January

RIFT Headstart Event Begins Today for Pre-Orders

The beta version of the Trion Worlds Rift Mobile app is now available as a free download for iOS devices, including the iPhone, the iPad, and the iPod touch, via the App Store. I am so excited for the release of this app, and I hope that many other MMO companies use this type of technology in the future.

The app allows players to use real-time chat to talk to both friends and guildmates, gives zone event alerts so that you never miss a thing in-game, and it even offers fun games like Planar Invasion, Crafty Critters, and Shinies that will net in-game loot, crafting materials, and artifacts.

Unfortunately Android users (like myself) will have to wait until later this month for the app to roll out, but the full launch on both devices is planned for sometime during Q1.

If you're playing Rift right now, will you be downloading the free Rift app?
