It's hardly newsworthy when a new PC game mod is released, especially when it's for a Bethesda Softworks game. The publisher's giant open-world adventures in the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series' just lend themselves to ceaseless tinkering. It IS news, however, when said mod comes from someone who actually WORKED on the game. Not just someone in this case, but the project director.
Fallout: New Vegas bossman J.E. Sawyer has released a mod from the game that you can download from his website. The mod is detailed in a No Mutants Allowed post (via Kotaku), but basically: it amps up the difficulty while cutting the level cap and XP gains. Sawyer explains that this is a mod and not an official release because "the game's over."
He writes, " No one is working on it anymore. No testers, nothing. This mod is just me working in my free time. If I horribly botch something, you can just un-check the mod and go on your way." Be aware: you'll need all DLC releases PLUS all pre-order packs in order to make this mod work.
