Myst! It may not be the ORIGINAL PC adventure game (or anything even close to that), but it IS a wildly popular one from a time when CD-ROMs were still considered a new teechnology (CD-ROM being the computer disc-thing that existed before DVD). The game has been ported to numerous platforms since its 1993 release, and now Hoplite Research, the developer behind the previous Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable ports, is hard at work on a 3DS version of the game.
A press release confirms that Maximum Family Games will publish Myst 3D, with the release set for March 27, 2012. While it's the original PC release that is being ported, Hoplite is also including the RIME Age as a bonus, a locaton that was added in year 2000 release, realMyst, which built a 3D world around the original game's static image environments.

LOL! G4, that's a shot of Myst 3! Smack a Myst Island pic on there.

For one, it seems obvious the port being done is of realMyst, so I don't consider the Rime age any substantive bonus. Second, it'd be nice if G4 would take a moment or so to consider the images they attach to these articles as the current screenshot derives from Myst 3: Exile, which I'm sure looks stunning compared to the visuals of realMyst or this upcoming port. Myst was cool decades ago, but it's simply very tired now.
