After months of rumors, speculation, informed guesses and wildly inaccurate soothsaying, Sony has come out and confirmed the full launch day and launch window lineup for its PlayStation Vita, as well as the pricing on all launch accessories. The Vita arrived in Japan on December 17 and it's still on track to arrive in the U.S. and Europe on February 22.
You might be pleased to learn that the Vita memory card pricing, previously revealed in GameStop product listings, is not as bad as we once though (but still really just too expensive). The 32 GB card costs $99.99 (instead of $119.99) and the number drops incrementally from there: $59.99 for a 16 GB, $29.99 for an 8 GB and $19.99 for a 4 GB. There are also a handful of "PSN Only" titles among the launch games, including Escape Plan, Hustle Kings, Tales of Space: Mutant Blobs, Plants Vs. Zombies and Super StarDust Delta. The Vita already beat the 3DS launch for many reasons, First off, it gives the gamers the games they want such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss, right from the get go. Sure, not everyone may want to play Hot Shots Golf or MJ: The Experience, but the strong launch titles make up for it. With strong launch titles and plenty more to come, I say PSVita will overcome the handhelds.

this might be a better launch line up than 3DS, but by the time Vita comes out 3DS will have all it's big titles owning all these games. The only games that look interesting on the Vita are Gravity Rush & Dragon's Crown(which is also on PS3, but whatever). On another note, how can you guys hype up Uncharted Golden Abyss over Gravity Rush? Makes no sense. You rather get a dumb down version of Uncharted 3 than an original title on the Vita? *sigh**facepalm*
CADAVARIFIC
The 3Ds had like no launch games so comparing the two is a bit unfair. The only dumb move from nintendo is not applying the whole 3rd party games thing, they both have a lot of potential. And I find the touch screen to be a gimmick like the 3Ds's 3D, unnecessary, but hey, if people like it why not put it in? The only real problem I have with the VITA is that I need to rebuy my psp games on it, which takes up space, so if I want an extensive library of games I'll have to buy several 32 gigs online if I can. (Hoping it'll be cheaper there.) Lovin the 3g network and some of the games.

why cant sony just make the video card SD instead of their rediculous one. i mean really 100 bucks for 32 gig?
GeneAndStuff
If they make Left 4 Dead for the system I will buy it at any price.
camaro72toy
And I will laugh as Microsofts portable changes everything.....ha ha ha ( holding his breath )....
Fyrbal
LOL @ camaro72toy. Is a 360 fanboy really crying about nickle and dime business practices?? Remember when the 360 didn't even come with a hard drive and you had to pay extra for one? Oh, and the failed HDDVD drive? Oh, and paying for online play? You mean to tell me that you've never had to buy a memory card when you buy a new digital camera? As far as I know, there AREN'T any plans for a Microsoft handheld, so go ahead and hold your breath. I'll point and laugh while you do.
Jax009
Yes yes, but can it play Monster Hunter?
DIETY
lol i like how im already hesitant on every little item priced above...and they still didnt drop the price on the actual system yet...
UMvC 3 up on the vita yeeeee time to get that strider on
FlyingContras
Interesting....
Might get. xD
And, I don't think Microsoft really needs to make a handheld. I'm sure they know that they will have one heck of a time competing.... It may not be worth it. At least they have Windows.... :P
cloudMAN75
wow PS vita is already beating 3ds with its launch titles
camaro72toy
You have to pay for every single aspect of everything. The system, a memory card, the games. What's next, you gonna part out the battery and a/c adaptor seperatly too. Come on, when is enough enough? Once they package in a 250 gig hard drive built in, games that look almost twice as good as the PS3, and have 20 dollar to 30 dollars top notch games out on release day, then we'll talk. Microsoft, where is your hand held???
WhatGuy
Many editors are stating that the Vita's launch lineup is the best and most in gaming history.
BrotherReese
I'll get one when the release...
1) A PSV in a color other than Onyx (black). At the announcement they showed both a Onyx and white systems. Then again, they also did that with the PS3. I also did a web search PSVita colors and saw a rainbow of colors maybe to be released at some other time.
2) I see more games that I want to play while traveling. I could have sworn that LittleBigPlanet: Vita was supposed to be on the list somewhere.
Seis_Siete
Better launch line up than the 3DS
WhatGuy
Pretty much every 3DS fanboy - the games are sucky and I dont like them, I only like Nintendo games
as if that makes sense
dz99ls
that list is very dispointing
rifleshoot
uuuuuuuummmmmmmmmm, "touch my katamari"? that isn't suggestive at all....
UNEMPLOYEDxxxxJEDI
Trading in your games at Gamestop, Target or Bestbuy is not a bad idea, instead of paying over $300 for the Vita and games/memory cards. Last year I traded some games and got over $400.
