The Japanese launch of the PlayStation Vita has been a moderate success, with the new handheld console from Sony pushing 321,000 units in the first two days.
To put it in perspective, the rival Nintendo 3DS sold 371,000 units in the first two days. While the Vita lags behind the 3DS in terms of launch sales, the original PSP was wildly popular in Japan, so time will probably be the test as to whether the Vita's feature set will push it ahead of the 3DS.
The North American launch of the PlayStation Vita isn't until February 22, 2012. Will you be buying one?

I already own it! I love mine so far. Ive been enjoying Uncharted and am looking forward to the great line up of games they have coming out over the next few months. The 3DS might offer you that inivative 3D but the Vita puts the 3DS to shame in every other way.

Haven't done any portable gaming in ages. I don't really play any games on my phone either. But I am keeping an eye on the vita as that all may change

Wait, wasn't the 3DS doing REALLY bad in it's first few days? if the Vita sold less, doesn't that mean it's selling terribly?
Either way, I already have a 3DS and I can't wait to get the Vita when it comes out x]

Oh hell yes I am buying one.. Already on pre-order from amazon. Sadly the year 1 games will probably be super short just like the original psp games until they work out the issues..

Glad to see a positive take on these sales figures. 321,00 units sold in two days in a one country is pretty good in my eyes. February 22nd couldn't come soon enough.

I still use my PSP everyday because of it's rss channel feature. If remote play is improved from the psp and games look good i will definitely be getting one.
