UPDATE: This post originally spoke of a rumored (and very likely) PC release for Remedy's 2010 Xbox 360 exclusive, Alan Wake. Shortly after the story ran, that rumor was confirmed.

ORIGINAL POST: Is Alan Wake going to be released for PC? That's the theory fans are working with on the AlanWake.com community forums (via Joystiq) after one curious Steam user discovered mention of the game in the digital download service client's registry.

There are multiple entries in the registry bearing the Alan Wake title, and almost all are followed by mention of one language or another. The registry search was likely prompted by recent comments Remedy's Aki Järvilehto made to a Finnish gaming website (via Just Push Start) in which he suggested that an announcement regarding a PC version of the 2010 game may be coming soon. You might not want to start celebrating just yet, but the evidence certainly seems to strongly favor an eventual Steam release.
