Remedy Entertainment has just announced that survival horror game Alan Wake is finally coming out on PC. It will be available in early 2012. The PC version of the game will also include The Signal and The Writer DLC.
The console version of Wake was well-reviewed when it came out, so PC gamers have no doubt been very anxious to give this a go, especially given the recent hype over the pint-size sequel to Alan Wake, downloadable action-oriented game Alan Wake's American Nightmare.
"We are happy to announced that Alan Wake is coming out on PC at the start of 2012," Remedy's Oskari Hakkinen told G4. "We would have definitely liked to have brought Alan Wake out on day one for PC, but the stars weren't aligned for that," he added.
Check it out in the video below the "Read More" tag.

If the specs are right I'll definitely pick this up. The only reason I'm interested at all is because I saw the entire game Let's Played. SUCK IT SOPA!!

Expect a poor port. But maybe it will be good, who knows.

Ok first off I want to say that Remedy is wonderful. Their games make me feel emotions that no others have ever equaled. Even with superior animations and more over the top action... other studios just cant compare with the way Remedy ignores all traditional formats while breaking down the forth wall and dragging you happily into its own noir-flavored nightmare,
Now that they have announced the existence of American Nightmares, I would like to see this port released as a thank you to fans who bought the game despite the fact that it wasn t being released the way we wanted it to. I mean lets be honest the longer a game is in development the more difficult it must be to secure funds for its development. Remedy stood next to their guns and said NO this game is not ready it needs to be more developed and refined. What we got was a bit of a trade off. Of course we didn t get the platform we wanted... the screen tearing bugged me. The game wasn t as free roaming as dome imaginations would lead to believe it was supposed to be, And there was "GASP" product placement in our game! Well you know what, they did what had to be done to get it out. I am glad I was able to play the wonderful experience of this surreal nightmare, and I hope Remedy continues to keep fans and critics on their toes for many years to come with their sheer creativity.
In that spirit. Don t let this be a straight port.
Bring us further out in the ocean or at least give us a better view of the lake from the bottom where Mr. Wake resides. Give entrust your fans with the SDK once again and we will use it to grow trees in your forests and plant fish in your lake. You let product placement into the game... sure it pays the bills But you know what? So do the fans. And we want to place our ideas and dreams inside this world. Just give us the keys we need to express our creativity within your world of Bright Falls/ Look at the freelance work being done with other released SDKs and please don t think that your fans aren't intelligent enough to utilize such a power. We can make relevant and meaningful user made content. All you have to do is look on You Tube to see some of the incredible fan made videos for Half-Life and Portal as well as the independent web series that led to Alan Wakes initial release. We can bring that level of creativity to your game and it will ensue nothing other than the excitement and longevity that a game as unique as Alan Wake deserves.
PS Extra features are always nice too J DVD style

Wait wait wait.
This game was announced in 2005 for PC and next gen consoles. THEN, in 2006, It was said that it was being developed JUST for PC and DX10 to showcase its power and would be the first game to do so. Then it was delayed and when DX11 came out, they said the PC version was killed off.
Now they are ready to release it 2 years later and expecting us to care? Im sorry, but this game isnt worth the 7 year development. Not by a long shot. And heres a promise. It wont sell what they want (And they WILL compare it to the 360 numbers, just you watch) and they will blame piracy and say PC is dead when in reality its a 2 year late port. Anyone who wanted to play it HAS played it.
Dumb companies making dumb decisions and then blaming piracy. Joy

This is good, but if they really want sales they should make sure it gets on Steam as well. For some reason I have the weirdest feeling it's going to end up on Games for Windows exclusively.
