Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance may have a ridiculous title, but the game's action focus is no joke. I mean... we're talking about a game with a cyborg ninja protagonist. Do the math. Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima doesn't want you to worry about this move away from the series' stealth roots, however.
Kojima wrote on Twitter (via Andriasang) that another Metal Gear Solid game is coming "at some point," a "true sequel" built around being sneaky. He also made it clear once more that Metal Gear Rising was conceived as and continues to be a spinoff story, so don't start thinking that the game's slicey action is a bold, new direction for the series. Think of it more like Metal Gear Acid, only with dripping entrails replacing collectible cards.
Kojima offered no further information on his MGS sequel plans, but fans can at least take comfort in hearing confirmation of a planned sequel straight from the father of all Snakes, be they Solid or Liquid. And hey, since you're here, why not check out the newly extended Revengeance trailer up top?
