I already read more than a few Image books but it looks like I have some to add to that list. Penguin and Punisher were both great, but how could you not mention Animal Man or Swamp Thing!?!

Most of what Mr. Sablik said about breaking in is complete bull!@$t. What is true is that it is hard or damn near impossible to break in and that practice does help your skills very much.
What is bull!@$t is that any editor or submission editor talks honestly to you. From personal experience and I can only speak for MYSELF is that editors or those like at Glasshouse Graphics and all the talk about looking for new talent is just plain BS.
I have been to conventions and talked to editors and just recently to Glasshouse Graphics who does hold influence in the comics world and showed my work and both asked if I was currently working. I told them no and what could they help me do about landing a comics job? Both went into BS mode and just sat there and blew smoke so far up my butt it was coming out my nose.
Again I asked if they thought my work was up to par and should be working then could they help me get a comics job. So much BS was flying you'd think a monkey was flinging crap everywhere. I finally just trudged through the pile of BS and left to enjoy the rest of the convention. That's just my personal horror story I'm sure that others may have had better luck than I did. By the way I am trying to be and inker if at all possible.
