We just got to bear witness to the absolutely epic opening cinematic from Blizzard's Diablo 3. Not only did it feature the lovely Leah, but it also showed off one of the huge prime evils in the game, as well as Deckard Cain. And before you go any further, remember that that first step is a doozy. Check it out below.
Personally I think that this trailer was a great accompaniment to the Black Soulstone cinematic trailer that was released back in October at Blizzcon and I can't wait to become a force to be reckoned with when Diablo 3 comes out.

I have been beta testing Diablo 3 and I have to say that I find the game to be fairly F'en good. Being someone that never played Diablo 1 or 2 and not a "fan" of the series, I can look at it without any nostalgic bias. The game plays great, click on a some monsters till gold and loot shoot from their corpses and that is fun to me. The mechanic of the game have been simplified and streamlined. Which I find to be great, you know just give me the kick ass spells and punches and let me kill a lot of baddies. However I do find the graphics to be a little on the dated side. The game does show how long it has been in development and I couldn't help feeling that everything had a blocky low res look to it. But you know what they say now-a-days, that graphics aren't everything and that is true and I do believe that as well. It's just how I felt playing the game.

It lacks a lot honestly, now if they took the E3 trailer and fused it with this one and added a bit more at the end like lets say a certain large demon hand grasping the top of the hole while leah crawls backwards in terror then yeah it'd be pretty damn epic

Not as exciting as I'd expected. That said, I'll be interested to play it. And getting a release date from Blizzard is pointless. They always push their dates back. It'll probably be at least another year or so before this comes out, so I'll just put it out of my mind until then. I learned that lesson with the Diablo 2 release debacle.
