Fans have been waiting patiently to find out where Alan Wake goes next after Remedy Entertainment's long-awaited, long-delayed and really freaking good 2010 release. Bits of news have popped up here and there suggesting that more is on the way, with official confirmation coming only last month that the upcoming game would be a standalone release for Xbox Live.
The game had previously been pegged with the title Alan Wake: Night Springs by various sources, though that may not be the case. A ratings classification from Germany's USK (via CVG) classification bureau identifies an Xbox 360 game called Alan Wake's American Nightmare.
It's entirely possible that this title will be used for European audiences, while the Night Springs moniker is kept for the North American release. It's equally possible of course that American Nightmare simply IS the title. We'll find out soon enough in either case, as more is set to be revealed at the VGAs this Saturday.
