Next week on Feedback we're going to rock your world. We're having on special guests, maybe you've heard of them? Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski and Insomniac's Ted Price. Yeah.
Somehow we managed to convince these talented people to come on our show. Please don't tell them what they're getting themselves into. To make sure this special episode of Feedback is still good ol'Feedback we will NEED your questions. Take this opportunity to ask Blair, Cliff, Todd and Ted anything your heart desires. Seriously, go crazy.
**I apologize for all of the CAPS LOCK. I'm just really excited.
UPDATE: Sadly, Todd Howard will not be able to make the show.

Is it possible that we could see a racing game from Epic that would allow the studio to really focus on nailing the engine's ability to handle ground and air vehicles with more finesse? Gears of War and Mass Effect have both had vehicle issues that should be traced back to the engine. It seems that the Frostbite engine has been tweaked and tested with Battlefield 3 and Need for Speed: the Run. Are there any Unreal tech AAA games on the horizon that can match the vehicle controls in either of those Frostbite games?

In Overstrike's early trailer the Black character is depicted as stereotypically brash, angry and less thoughtful than violent. Given the cartoonish nature of the other character portrayals, I'm sure that this was seen as being acceptable. Still, do you think that the common portrayal of darker skinned characters in games as being less intelligent, more violent and generally comical is more of a visionary trend or an unimaginative extension of traditional xenophobic moires?

Given the hardware requirements for Unreal Engine 3, does Epic feel that the future of gaming lies primarily with graphics and sound rich games that require powerful systems to run or do they acknowledge that great games, such as Portal 2, can and should, still be developed without demanding a mid to high range graphics card with level 3 shading capability?
I'm guessing that Insomniac, which isn't in the engine licensing business, has a differing, and intriguing, perspective on hardware requirements, especially given their recent console focus.

Are there any games that made a big contribution to their genre (or gaming in general) that were just bad games overall (at the time they released or now)?

With the quality of AAA titles getting only better and better, how have your standards changed for deciding what makes your titles so great, and how has that changed from the past?

You've both been a part of your respective companies from very early on in their lifespan (Ted from year one) and with the recent announcements of "famous" developers leaving AAA companies to form their own smaller development houses, what has kept you at you're original company and more importantly does the camaraderie change at all as the companies continue to grow?
Thanks for getting two great developers on the same show!

i aspire to be involved in game design some day. im not going to ask what i need to do to become a video game designer because i know ill hear the same answer everyone in games says. i want to ask what you think about a game idea ive been brain storming. what do you think about an rpg that isnt a fantasy or a scifi game. it takes place in real life like world maybe it takes place in a city like LA or Chicago. i dont know how it would work or what you would do in game i just feel like fantasy and scifi settings have been done alot and i want to see something different i like rpgs and love the idea of leveling up a character and becoming a badass. also no zombies will be in it zombies have been done more than anything ever.

With the release of the PSP Vita drawing closer and closer, Sony is releasing more information about the device like the memory cards and the account settings. But seems that piece of information realeased by Sony makes the device seem less appleaing to consumers (For example $50 to $150 memory cards). I know most of this is prevent piracy but do you guys think that Sony is isolating the conumers to the point that the device will be dead on arrival?

I remember playing soul caliber 3 and a glitch erased my memory card I was wondering what would you guys do if one of your games was sold with that type of problem without the ability to patch it. Thanks for any response.

Do any of you three think you can identify the game Blair mentioned two feedbacks ago? He told us about this ad he saw in a Jughead Double Digest; it had a scary looking bat biting at the title of the game. I have no idea if you three have good memory of videogames from then, but if you can at least name a title that might fit the bill, I would be very happy to send Blair the picture.

Are Epic, and Insomniac developing any games for the next generation of consoles yet? If so how are the new consoles different when it comes to developing for them, compared to the current generation of consoles?

Lately there's been a huge rise in indie games where a really small team will end up making a game that becomes not only a commercial but also a critical success. But I'm sure developing a bigger budget blockbuster title will have its difficulties given the larger dev teams and different opinions as well as community feedback and expectations set upon it. So my question is this: do you ever personally yourselves overseeing a smaller title where you can really get creative or is your "home" the huge cinematic games and franchises?

My questions is for Cliff Bleszinski: Your game was suppose to grace us early in April of this year, but it was moved back to September of this. Now what you say was one of the biggest reasons why you felt like the game was given the September date, and what advantages/disvantages did it give to Gears Of War 3?

My question is for Cliff Bleszinski: Gears of War 3 was suppose to have graced us earlies in April of this year. However it was pushed back about six months, with this new timetable you guys were able to do the beta and make improvements to the game, what would you say was the biggest reason why Microsoft allowed you to have to September, and what was the biggest advantage in being able to give your guys game that much more refining?
P.S. Loved the game and I can not wait for the new DLC to come out!!

2011 has been an amazing year for gamers. So many great games, its actually hard to find enough time to actually play them all. Do you developers feel that gaming has become such a big business that it diminishes the replay value and longevity of a AAA title game?

With the rise in paid DLC and online patches do you, as major game developers, feel that there has now become a sense of urgency to release a game by a deadline if it is largely functioning as intended, but not 100% finished and patch it later? For example: Skyrim, which is an amazing game, but has a few noticable (although usually hilarious) glitches (ex: Giants launching people into space.)
