Major League Gaming had its largest season ever in 2011, reaching more than 3.5 million unique stream viewers and 97,000 live spectators during their six combined Pro Circuit weekends. The 2011 Pro Circuit National Championships in Providence, Rhode Island drew in a staggering 241,000 peak concurrent online viewers and 3.6 million hours of videos were consumed over the weekend when pro gamers faced off for over $600,000 in Call of Duty: Black Ops, StarCraft 2, and Halo: Reach.
For an in-depth breakdown of all of MLG's achievements this year, check out the awesome infographic after the break.

I thought that the way MLG handled the 2011 Pro Circuit season was amazing, and I can't wait to see the big things that the e-Sports league has planned for 2012. What did you think of this year's tournaments? What can MLG do better for next year?

What happened to CS and Quake? I miss seeing those.

Loki: Agreed. Get some of the pointless filler off the air (*cough* crap like Cheaters and Cops from the 90s *cough*) and cover MLG.
And also, stupid question...are the online viewing streams for MLG events free?

This is awesome news. I have watched every MLG live since they introduced Starcraft and it is so great to see how it has grown since then. 2011 was a very good year for MLG. I hope these numbers will be a driving force to push E-sports and get more coverage from mainstream gaming sites such as Gametrailers, and G4 *Hint Hint*
