Army Of Four Rumored To Be The Next Army Of Two Game

Army of Two: The 40th Day Hands-On Preview Part Two

Four is the new two, people. It's not good enough anymore to let gamers pair up in their efforts to save the world from one threat or another; no, we won't be satisfied unless at LEAST four friends can get in on the action. Electronic Arts seems to recognize this, as the publisher's Montreal studio is reportedly working on another Army of Two game, called Army of Four.

The news comes from an unnamed EA insider speaking to Kotaku, yet another bit of leaked information to follow yesterday's revelations about Dragon Age and Dead Space. The tipster says that Army of Four will feature four-player co-op, and that it's being built on DICE's Battlefield 3-powering Frostbite 2 engine. There have apparently been a few setbacks during the rumored game's development, which may prompt EA to move some DICE team members over to the Montreal studio to lend a hand.

That is, of course, assuming all of this is true. Don't forget that nothing's been officially announced yet.

I LOVED Army of Two but I hated the direction they took with 40th Day. I didn't like how they did an "artsy" style of cinematics and I thought the morality choices were a valueless adition. If they kept the game more to the style of the first game but added two additional players it would be a dream

I found them both excruciatingly boring....This will probably be no different. Hopefully they use frostbite 2 in a nice way, maybe it will be worth a look if true

As long as I can play split-screen co-op storyline mode with a buddy in the same room, on the same console, they can do whatever they want, and I'll be happy. JUST GET IT DONE ALREADY! Can't wait.

i played the first one and really enjoyed it, havent gotten to play the second one yet, besides the demo way back when.

i just hope they integrate a second duo into the game and you can choose (possibly meeting the other duo at some point in the campaign, or maybe getting to play as the other duo for a mission or two) and have a separate coop campaign where the two duos work together. i dont wanna coop with another Salem and Rios, cause that makes no sense. lol

I hope its even more difficult with 4 minds at work. And hopefully 4 on the same system, not split screen.

seems interesting, i liked the first but i didnt like second, so i got mixed feelings about this game. il just have to wait and see. before anyone asks why i didnt like the second. for me its the story. in the first game you traveled around the world doing multiple mercenary jobs but in the second you just stayed in one area. also for both games the multiplayer was boring.

The first game was really cool, with a few minor complaints. But it seemed they got it right with the second one. So I can only imagine how good a four player co-op version of the Army of Two franchise would be...of course if the rumors are true.

As long as the game's story is in a useful 10-20 hour long situation, I'm all for it with some decent co-op arenas or modes.

Very cool. I hope this game actually happens! I've spent countless hours killing with my best bud and to be able to add a few more friends to the mayhem would be magnificent! Please make it happen! I just hope it doesn't have that stupid one time use code crap everyone has been doing lately.

I love these games, and the idea of adding 2 more friends to the mix s awesome. It would make the strategy in the game much deeper. I hope that this is rumor is true.
