Immersing yourself in Nintendo games whether it's with a Wiimote or with 3D graphics have been strong selling points for our favorite family friendly video game company this year. We've picked some of the best Wii and Nintendo 3DS games that you may want to consider picking up either for the little guy in your life, or the super nostalgic one, in our Nintendo Wii and 3DS Holiday Buyers Guide.
For a breakdown of each game, as well as a few more additions to the list, check after the break.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the latest and greatest Zelda game for the Nintendo Wii. As usual you play as the handsome and heroic Link on a quest to save Zelda. You'll run through challenging dungeons, get to equip new items to the series, and with the Wii Motion Plus, you'll really feel like you're swinging Link's sword around.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D: While The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is just a remake of the N64 version of the game, it's a truly stellar remake. The graphics are fully updated, and the dungeons and challenges are just as amazing as you remember them from back in the day. Ocarina of Time is heralded as one of the greatest games of all time by many hardcore gamers, so if someone on your list hasn't played it yet, then this would be the perfect gift.
Starfox 64 3D: Starfox 64 3D is another classic Nintendo 64 remade for the Nintendo 3DS. It features quirky characters with fantastically bad dialogue, but its charm is something that can't be missed. Plus, the newly integrated multiplayer adds new levels of fun to the game.
Super Mario 3D Land: Super Mario 3D Land is one of our favorite original 3DS games that came out this year. It follows the classic Mario platforming formula that we've all grown up loving, but the 3D effects take the game to a whole new level. Anyone who is a Mario fan on your gift list would love this new addition to the series.
Mario Kart 7: Mario Kart 7 is, of course, the 7th iteration of the fast-paced Mario Kart racing series. This time around you can race in all new karts in wacky maps like we've never seen before. There are even paragliding attachments that will take the Mario Kart experience to the next level.
Kirby's Return to Dreamland: Kirby's Return to Dreamland is a 2D platforming game that is sure to please old school fans of the franchise. It takes cues from the Nintendo classic Kirby's Dream Land and the 4-player co-op is one of the shining aspects of the game.
Aliens: Infestation: Aliens: Infestation is a side-scrolling sci-fi action game that takes place in the exciting Aliens universe. You get to use tons of guns including pistols, rifles, and flamethrowers in your attempts to eradicate the xenomorphs.
Nintendogs + Cats: Nintendogs + Cats comes in several varieties. Whether you like the french poodle or bulldog version, any of them are sure to make everyone on your gift list go, "awwww!" You get to take care of a little puppy or kitten, and this time around they're in 3D which makes them running up to the screen all the more adorable.

Really G4??? You use OoT 64 footage instead of the 3DS version???
I guess you still want people to think Nintendo is all about horrible graphics HUH??? ;)
silentmurderer
i would like to point out that if none of these games had existed prior to this moment right now, none of you would buy a single one of them.
Bomblord
How the heck do you get N64 zelda footage confused with Ocarina of time 3D?!??!
KROsus
I'm getting Skyward Sword Limited Edition. The one with the golden Wiimote.

There is no love for kirby on this list!

This list is of the best games released on the Wii and 3DS this year, so does anybody else find it sad that every single game mentioned on this list is developed by Nintendo? Can't any other companies make good games on Nintendo's consoles besides Nintendo?

Okay, somehow this video has copied my personal list VERBATIM (although I've crossed off the Zelda games on account of recently buying both of them)!

Wow! Great Nintendo games this year!
From Ocarina of Time 3D to Super Mario 3D Land, Kirby's Return to Dream Land to Skyward Sword, it was a good year overall.
I'll get Mario Kart 7 next week!

I just saw a myspace ad. Wtf?
zimmy91
Why did you show the Gamecube version of the N64 version of Ocarina of time and not the 3ds Version?
